It's not often that you get a Democratic politician who praises President Donald Trump. Then again, these are extraordinary times.
Democratic State Rep. Karen Whitsett of Detroit credits Trump for touting hydroxychloroquine, the anti-malaria drug, which she says saved her in a battle with the coronavirus, Paul Egan of the Detroit Free Press reports. She started taking hydroxychloroquine on March 31, but the DFP does not say when she was tested positive.

She requested it after she began feeling shortness of breath and other symptoms. She felt better just TWO HOURS after getting the drug.
She knew to ask her doctor for it after hearing Trump tout it, and thought the doctor wouldn’t have given it to her otherwise.

Trump, who never claimed to be a doctor, has made it possible for patients to ask their doctors whether this drug should be part of the treatment. I’m guessing that this has saved more than a few lives.

A very excellent twist for Potus and his advocacy of CQ/HCQ, and one which will leave his haters grinding their teeth even more (see responses to his tweet to this Dem lawmaker wishing her well).
I am happy for this Rep’s recovery, and praying for PM Boris Johnson to have a similar turn of events.
