So, what I’ve see so far are:

1) An Infectious disease specialist from France, Dr. Didier Raoult successfully using it on over a 100 patients and PUBLISHING the results in two separate papers.

2) A Jewish Doctor, Dr.Vladimir Zelenko taking it prophylactically for himself and successfully treating over 800 patients with it in upstate New York with outstanding results.

3) A New Jersey Doctor Stephen Smith using it successfully on his many patients in his clinic saying: ‘I think this is the beginning of the end of the pandemic’

SEE HERE: https://www.foxnews.com/media/dr-stephen-smith-on-effectiveness-of-hydroxychloroquine-with-coronavirus-symptoms-beginning-of-the-end-of-the-pandemic

4) A Long Island Doctor, Dr. Mohammud Alam, an infectious disease specialist affiliated with Plainview Hospital, who said 81 percent of infected Covid patients he treated at three Long Island nursing homes recovered from the contagion.

See here:

https://nypost.com/2020/04/04/long-island-doctor-tries-new-hydroxychloroquine-for-covid-19-patients/

NOTE: THESE ARE ELDERLY PATIENTS, the ones who have the worst mortality rates.

And now

5) A Los Angeles Doctor who swears by it ( this article ).

And what does the mainstream media say in their headlines?

“Controversial” Drug, “Unproven” drug, “No evidence that it works”, etc.

Who are we to believe? These doctors or the media headlines?

There’s also the Kansas doctor (a former governor of the state) who has written two op-eds in the Wall Street Journal about how he is administering it with some success

Is anyone asking the media whether Chris Cuomo is being administered hydoxychloroquine? Or the husband of Sen. Klobuchar? Or Tom Hanks?

Thanks for the information. Well, there you go, evidence from different geographical locations.

And yet... what do we hear the Mainstream media tell us? It’s”UNPROVEN”. Somehow, I am beginning to think they don’t want it to be made known because Trump is the one who mentioned it to the American peope.

I found the video. See here:

WSJ’s Gerald F. Seib talks at the WSJ Health Forum to Dr. Jeff Colyer, former governor of Kansas, about the effectiveness of hydroxychloroquine to treat Covid-19.

But it’s approved? Why do I keep reading that it’s not? Yesterday I saw that 24% of patients were being treated with it.

What is the FR concern about? What am I missing?

RE: Yesterday I saw that 24% of patients were being treated with it.

OK, why just 24%? What are the other doctors doing?

The media always calls people who have an opinion contrary to observation "Experts".

Great. Maybe you should also post that as a post/thread of its own? People may miss it if it’s just buried in this thread?

Because it’s not tolerated well by people with heart disease...which is probably half the patients?

If it is available, and being used...what is the anger/excitement about? You got the “win.”

Why don’t you trust the medical staff taking care of patients?

My personal concerns: The fact that the treatment percentage it is not closer to 90%+. The fact that the media is calling for the DPA to be invoked to make respirators and masks (defensive) instead of the drugs (offensive). The appearance, to me, that docs are waiting for better CDC/FDA guidance before making the prescription a regular part of treatment. The fact that using it as a prophylactic is being roundly dismissed. The fact that many doctors are waiting for people to become seriously ill before trying it. The fact that the Lupus foundation is lobbying against its use in treatment.

By the time this treatment becomes accepted mainstream, the country will be left a smoking crater in the ground.

“If it turns out that Hydroxychloroquine is a “miracle cure”, this will make Trump unbeatable in November. He’ll be able to tout that he was right and others belittled him for suggesting it.”

which is why the evil stream enemedia is doing everything possible to suppress good news about these drugs and belittle them ...

Trump should bring some of the docs who’ve used it to his White House briefings. He should also make it clear - an obvious point - that it can only be used with the advice and prescription of a patient’s MD, so Trump is not “playing doctor,” as the media claim.

my impression is that lots of oncologists are like that because their patients almost always die ...

They've been routinely prescribing hydroxychloroquine as a malaria prophylactic for years. Until chloroquine resistant malaria became prevalent in Africa, it was THE most widely prescribed drug to prevent and treat the disease. It is still recommended by the CDC to treat and prevent malaria in Central and South America as well as the Koreas.

24% is pretty wide spread. I would think that there are side effects that would not interact well with other comorbidities such as heart disease and what not.

And you do not want to prescribe a drug to a general population that will probably never get more than a headache from this virus.

The angst, anger, and—dare I say—hysteria over this is kind of unsettling. It reminds me of the nut-job videos put out on some of the wu-wu sites: Colloidial Silver, Mushrooms, all ranges of vitamins, etc.

If it works, doctors will use it if it fits the criteria for each patient.

Its available, its being used, and continues to be trialed; Not sure why there are so many folks on FR still beating the drum in a frenzy.

But, its a free country. Pound that drum if you wish.

I understand that. I also understand the side effects. I understand that some very elderly and compromised folks would not tolerate it well.

And to give people who do not have the virus something that has digestive side effects would end up with more people in the ER thinking they are going to die-—than are in there now with the virus.

That just doesn’t seem wise.

If it is a good treatment for the disease, great. But since we beat back malaria in the US a long time ago...lets treat people with symptoms rather than giving more people more things to worry about.

You do when the only other alternative is shutting down the country. I'll take it tomorrow.

So go get it. But since you don’t have symptoms and you are not going to get malaria, you will not get a prescription. That make sense to me.

Perhaps some Xanax?

The economy will be back. That’s what Trump tells me.
