PILOTS: The 'STAY AT HOME' order and non-essential operations
Colorado Air and Space Port ^ | 1 April 2020 | Colorado Air and Space Port

Posted on 04/05/2020 12:20:36 PM PDT by CodeToad

Many privately-owned aircraft at Colorado Air and Space Port (CASP) are owned and operated by individuals, businesses, and organizations that fall into the category of "critical business," as defined by the Executive Order signed by Gov. Polis on March 25, 2020. These include medical, medevac, food services, small cargo, fire prevention, law enforcement, public safety, and others. General aviation has always been a critical part of helping communities, especially during times of emergency and disaster, and CASP remains open to support these important missions. However, for the safety of our employees and you, we ask, in this very unusual time in not only aviation but in the world, that our recreational pilots abide by the Governor’s Executive Order unless your mission meets the criteria for “critical business” operations as defined by the state. If you must fly, please use the self-service pumps for fueling, to the greatest extent possible. Executive Orders explained: https://covid19.colorado.gov/public-health-executive-orders-explained Noncompliance with the Governor’s Executive Order is punishable by a fine of up to $1,000 and/or imprisonment in a county jail for up to one year. Additional information and updates are available from the FAA Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update. Please think before you act, not only for the safety and well-being of yourself, but for those you love, and for the airport community as a whole. Thanks and stay safe and healthy!

General and Business Aviation Shutdown in Colorado.

More Colorado governor dictatorship. The mentally ill homosexual governor of Colorado, Polis the Polesmoker, just just down the Colorado airports for general and business aviation deemed "non essential"

As the Colorado Dictator, has once again decided what he considers an industry he wants to hurt, all to "GET TRUMP!!!"

Is he going to order the Colorado Air National Guard to shoot down private aircraft deemed in violation of his authority?

“Is he going to order the Colorado Air National Guard to shoot down private aircraft deemed in violation of his authority?”

bigger question: Would the USAF shoot down? I think so.

This is total bullcrap!

General aviation pilots who fly their aircraft from point A to point B is no different than someone driving their automobile from point A to point B.

Would the USAF shoot down?

Unlike on 911, when planes were grounded for 3 days, I haven't seen any such orders from the FAA, who controls US airspace, and not the Colorado homo.

They’re asking, not demanding.

AT that airport there is a National Guard armory, a State Patrol presence, and an air ambulance service. Guaranteed one of the privileged ones saw some GA pilots out flying and started sniveling.

The bureaucracy has lockdown in order, now they are bored and looking for new ways to tighten the screws. This is no less than a dress rehearsal for a bigger future crackdown. And if they can use it to kill the economy and get rid of Trump, even better.

Not exactly asking. They listed all the flights the governor deems critical and GA is not among them.
Then they continue;

Noncompliance with the Governor’s Executive Order is punishable by a fine of up to $1,000 and/or imprisonment in a county jail for up to one year.

That is a threat.

Yep, I bet you're right about that. And the other thing too.

The wearing of appropriate masks and eye protection, if the general population had them, would remove the biggest reason for a lockdown - kinda makes you wonder if something else is afoot - especially after we've been lied to about PPE not being effective.

It’s a demand, not an ask. The wording used gentle but the tower says otherwise.

Flying an aircraft is different than driving a car. All pilots are required by the FAA to maintain proficiency and get periodic training. Landing and take off requirements (day and nightl in each type of plane you’re rated in, in my case that’s multi and single engine and tailwheel aircraft. Plus instrument approach proficiency. In addition flight reviews are mandated. If you fly turbine aircraft you are also required to do annual training and on and on and on. Pilots quickly lose the skills needed if they don’t fly regularly. That goes double for the less experienced pilots. All this is why aviation is deemed essential, especially flight schools.

Correct. Nothing from the FAA, just dictator governors who affect interstate commerce with these dictatorial orders.

Like check points at State borders - not sure they've read the commerce clause in the Constitution.

" not sure they've read the commerce clause in the Constitution."

They don't care. This isn't about a virus, it is about communist control. The liberals found they can invent a boogieman and the feeble minded of all political persuasions will fall in line.

I feel States should stay in their lane. Closing state borders, national airspace, etc., comes under the powers of the Federal government. The coronavirus is much worse than the flu. In just a few days, it will be the leading cause of daily deaths in the US.

Our government agencies, experts, and Congress have been a large part of the problem by giving bad advice, dragging their feet, creating distractions, and so forth. President Trump, even after having been misled, fought at every step, lambasted, and correcting fake news from our MSM, has served America in exemplary manner. Americans are very fortunate to have DJT as our president during these times. But it's not the flu...it's much worse. If fewer Americans die from this than the seasonal flu, it will be due to heroic efforts and and by the grace of God.
