Irony? Schadenfreude?
Those on his ship thought of him as a hero. It seems some in today’s Navy needs to understand the chain of command, military values, and common sense.
The Captain is having a Terrible, Awful, Horrible week.
What else could go wrong?
As captain he was presumably the “old” guy on the ship (in his 40s) and the one most at risk or real consequences (particularly if HIV-positive gay or otherwise lung, blood pressure, heart or immune-compromised).
That guy’s photo pinged both the ‘crazy warning’ and the gaydar alarm...
Ever notice, we always hear about when someone in a recognizable position gets this virus, we seldom hear that 3 - 4 days later they are fine ?
The irony!!
Maybe this will teach the sailors that...NO TOUCHY FEELY ON BOARD SHIP.
Does he really have the virus, or is the Navy making sure that the captain is unavailable for comment for a few weeks?
Wow!
Well I’m going to pray for him then.
And then he will get better and he’ll be okay and all will be fine. Go figure
DA NANG, Vietnam - USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71) and USS Bunker Hill (CG 52) arrived in Da Nang, March 5, for a scheduled port visit commemorating 25 years of U.S.-Vietnam diplomatic relations...The United States delegation was led by Adm. John C. Aquilino, commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet, U.S. Ambassador to Vietnam Daniel Kritenbrink, Rear Adm. Stu Baker, commander, Carrier Strike Group (CSG) 9, U.S. Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City Marie Damour, and other officials from CSG 9 and the U.S. Mission in Vietnam. Navy News
Ok i will take the bait. Why do we care more about people including non americans on non us cruise ships than American sailors with the virus? Over 100 sick people on that Navy ship.
Is he an Obama promotion?
He did the right thing and the wrong thing at the same time
I hope he doesn’t present symptoms, ever...
I’m not surprised he tested positive. The lack of discipline on that ship was evident during his send off where hundreds of simpatico sailors were on the hanger deck chanting his name, while not even attempting to distance themselves from one another.
It was like a pep rally. Where was the leadership? XO? S3? Anyone... Bueller???
I see praise for this man all over FR, but this was the tone on the TR - total lack of discipline on one of our most powerful warships. On display for ALL TO SEE.
Crozier took the Teddy Roosevelt into port in Vietnam during an outbreak of the Corona virus and granted shore leave to the crew. He is the jerk who created the CoVid-19 problem on the Teddy Roosevelt. Then he wanted to play the “hero” by writing and releasing a letter to the press about the crisis.
Crozier is seeking publicity for a job in the private sector. He graduated from the USNA in 1992. If he does not make Rear Admiral by 2020, he will have to retire. He missed making the current promotion list. He knows he is unlikely to make either of the next two promotion lists. So if he cannot become a rear admiral, he decided to become simply a Rear.
Sorry; I just can’t seem to find any sympathy for pussies.
