PITTSBURGH, Pa. (WKBN) – A Pittsburgh area pastor says he plans to organize a large, Woodstock-like outdoor Easter service to protest the stay-at-home orders amid the COVID-19 outbreak.
Conservative Christian Pastor Jonathan Shuttlesworth made the announcement on social media after the arrests of pastors in the U.S. for failing to comply with state-at-home orders.
“How do you lay hands on people online? How do you baptize people online? How do you anoint with oil and lay hands on the sick?” he asked.
He said the government is infringing on the rights of people to assemble for religion.
He said the large outdoor gathering will be “like Woodstock.”

Take a chill pill and shelter in place. You have no right to infect other people. You do not live on an island or in a bubble. Apparently public schools are not teaching common sense or critical thinking.
I commented elsewhere that I still stand by South Korea’s strategy. They are not as nonchalant as Sweden but they are nowhere near as draconian as Europe and the U.S. They are doing widespread testing and quarantining, tracing and tracking the sick. They are placing very few if any restrictions on what the healthy can do. It is absurd to waste resources trying to control the entire population when resources are as tight as they are.
Seeing as mild case can be better than isolation, community activities with an age limit and health status should be encouraged.
Consider that about 80% of people who get Covid-19 experience a mild case [WHO said the same] – about as serious as a regular cold – and recover without needing any special treatment.[1]

[2] And the CDC (March 18): among patients with COVID-19 in the United States the estimated fatality rate among persons aged 19 years and younger was 0%; 1% among persons aged 20–54 years; 1% to 3% among persons aged 55-64 years, and ranging from 10% to 27% among persons aged 85 and up.[3] 80 percent of US coronavirus deaths are people 65 and older.[4]
As regards health conditions, those must vulnerable are those with Cardiovascular disease, then Diabetes, and after that Diabetes, Hypertension, then Cancer.[8]
Relevant to that, more than 99% of Italy's coronavirus fatalities were people who suffered from previous medical conditions.[9] Also, three out of four young NYC Coronavirus fatalities had other medical conditions (Mar. 27).[8]
Meanwhile, the pastor can appeal on the basis of equal rights, since for 40 years men with men have been protected and promoted as engaging in a consensual practice that has been the means of HIV transmission in over 80% of cases, some of which is paid for by tax payers. Covid-19 is more easily spread for sure, but the cost and death rate for HIV-AIDs is worse among the young.
