Cuomo this week again bragged about his state’s open arms, which resulted in New York’s current crisis. The reason New York now has so many more cases of coronavirus, even more than California, is “because we welcome people from across the globe,” he said on March 25. “We have people coming here, we have people who came here from China, who came here from Italy, who came here from all across the globe.”
Nice going, Governor! Open borders take priority over everything, including your own constituents’ lives.
New York’s hospitals are overburdened and experiencing problems, but this is not a recent development:

Now, of course, the same incompetent reporters who are swooning over Cuomo blame President Trump for longstanding problems in New York’s hospital system.
In a sane world, the idea that the governor of the state with by far the worst coronavirus record would be singled out for praise by reporters would be unthinkable. But of course, we do not live in a sane world–not a sane media world, anyway.

Why is a state of 19.43 million with a very rich tax base totally incapable of managing it public health care infrastructure?
Why is the Federal Government having to rush in and rescue the State of Ny from it own incompetence in managing it own infrastructure?

What was Cuomo spending money on instead of the NY State health care system?

To be fair, Cuomo is the governor of the state which has NYC, governed by Mayor DeBlasio. The combination of a perverse mayor and an extremely dense population distribution would have made containing the virus in NYC extremely difficult.
But Cuomo could have done a better job. He spends a lot of time complaining about Trump while he imports illegals and ignores public health. He preens for literally hours daily on the FOX provided platform, providing some local crisis information, but spending much more time wandering about spouting self-aggrandizing observations and platitudes. DNC floor fight warmup?
Well, in all honesty, I am going to bet that no one saw this coming 1 year ago.
No hero ever tries to push blame onto someone else.
Real heroes are the quickest to step up and take personal responsibility.

Illegals are a public health issue. They bring disease into the country which had been virtually eliminated - measles, tuberculosis, smallpox, mumps, etc.

New York State is sitting on Billion$ of dollars worth of natural gas. Yet, Cuomo has outlawed drilling. Now complains about medical equipment shortages and wants us to bail him out.
At least one FReeper has praised him for his leadership, and promised not to vote for Trump. Another is expecting Trump to lose in a landslide.
The Never-Trump virus is once again spreading at Free Republic, though it is nowhere close to what it was in 2016. In a few months, who knows?

Back in the early 70s, after college, I worked in Buffalo (for the BSA) and lived in Niagara Falls, where the GOP still had a foothold. I left after 2yrs and moved to Miami (with a promotion from the BSA). That place was rapidly becoming a sewer, too, with all the coke, crime etc and non-English-speaking people moving there from Central and South America.
Andy the Ventilator becomes less “impressive” with each passing day of the crisis, and as his outright incompetence and ineptitude as an executive becomes obvious. Thank you. I was not aware of that particular event. I am fully aware of Never Trumpers though. They are like weeds in a garden and must be pulled up by the roots when they appear. If left unchecked, they will take over the garden.

Nowhere does it mention hospital procurement of supplies?
The press briefing from Wednesday Cuomo is sitting in front medical supplies as a back-drop, someone should have been aware they are needed for the hospitals to be prepared, the reporters standing there in front of him should have asked something.
