If given with zinc, we are talking about a cure! But not without zinc which is of course what they are doing.

Yes, that seems to be the general consensus. However, I don't think they're certain in how many milligrams or whether pills, sub-lingual, or intravenous, and what doses. This will be worked out in the coming months. Zinc tablets have long been used against rhino-viruses to much affect. I have often killed off colds when first appearing by using sublingual Zinc lozenges, although takes a lot.
The best precautions: Yearly flu shots and now bacteria immunization for the aged. Same old: Wash hands, we use isopropyl alcohol (min. 70%) before entering our house after buying stuff. We also have a fine mister bottle of isopropyl alcohol in the garage to wipe down outside materials including mail. Neither of us have got a cold or influenza with our protocol this season.
Also, if you don't like the drying affect of rubbing alcohol, just keep hand lotion close by. Purell is non-drying if you can get it. It has aloe vera which doesn't diminish the sanitation of the main ingredient, isopropyl alcohol. Remember, hydrogen peroxide is also a main antiseptic. It kills everything rubbing alcohol does, however may need to be diluted according purity.
