Preppers, once mocked, say they were ready for coronavirus crisis
Fox News ^ | March 19 2020 | David Aaro

Across the U.S., "preppers" have been planning for an event like the coronavirus for years.

Now, as a run-on toilet paper and necessary supplies have created vast lines and panic in our nation's supermarkets and stores, some are able to sit back and relax -- while being humble enough to avoid "I told you so."

“We're not laughing. We're not saying, ‘I told you so,' when people are out there fighting over toilet paper and hand sanitizers,” said Ohio resident Paul Buescher.

Well they seem to live in a bunker so they might be safe.

Cheers to those who stocked up. It’s best to stay out of the stores now if possible.

"The pandemic is affecting brains too...."

Brains. Brains! <------familyop turning into a zombie.

It does seem like increasingly more people have been getting randomly mad at others around them without reason for a long time. Drugs, perhaps?

Not for normal people but you should survey California. This whole building trend with say 3 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms is ridiculous. More toilets than asses in the house, they must be doing something weird out there. Too much Mexican food, cant be further than 9 feet from a toilet? Inviting other families over for squatting parties?

9 was hard to come by all through the obamalypse. I did not care for that fiasco and it's not going to happen to me again.

I put a ton of resources and time into Dillon Precision since that scare and ammo (9, 45acp, 223, 308 and 12 ga anyway) is the very last of my worries today.

Something different to do instead of watching the Coronothon on the tube all day too.

So I was in Wallyworld yesterday and I was browsing. I wanted to check hand held Shower massagers. Clean out. It may be the apocalypse but we’ll be fresh and spiffy at the end!

Around here it's just winter preps, which is maybe why the shortages took a while to reach out this far (northern Idaho). And given the five inches of snow, the wind, and the power outages that we had only last week, we'd better be ready.

Got a little run today for beer and groceries and beer and maybe a little range ammo. I shall report.

Pipe out of the ground brings me gas from well drilled on the property in the 80’s. Pipe connected to well head. Royalties include free gas.

I'm not a prepper, but I got caught with my pants down during Sandy and I'll never let that happen to my family again.

Prepper.

I’m far from being a prepper but just the way I buy stuff had me prepared. I never buy just 1 of anything. If canned veggies are on sale I’ll buy a whole flat.
Same here. Every few months our local Smith's will have a "Case Lots Sale" of canned veggies, Top Ramen, Spam, etc. and we'll drop $100-$150.

I make a tp and paper towel run every once in awhile and stack them in the garage simply because I don’t like to think about it.
One of the very few benefits of getting old and forgetful is that when wife and I go shopping, invariably we'll ask "Did we get TP the last time? Forgot? Get another bale just to be sure." We're loaded.

We can sit comfortably for a month or so before replenishing and marvel as the idiocy and panic on display. What the Hell would happen if it was food that was in short supply? (rhetorical)

Don't advertise that you are a prepper and are well stocked for this event.

DO go to the grocery store. DO pick up a case of TP and a case of water bottles. And make sure your neighbors SEE you bring them in the house. Just a little OpSec/misdirection.

I did mine yesterday...even though I didn't need either item.
