You can make a very POOR argument banning alcohol sales claiming that it encourage people to congregate but that’s at least some rationale.

But banning gun and ammo sales? That’s an outright violation of constitutional rights, especially when you’re OPENING THE PRISONS at the same time!

Because we all know that all those New Orleans murders are committed by law abiding gun owners. The mayor is a delusional douchebag. I watch the First 48 Hours show all the time and New Orleans is one of the homicide units they follow. I would say 99% of the victims and killers are young black males. Just about every murder is committed with an illegally owned firearm. The mayor's restrictions will do nothing to stop the murders in that city.

They do this for all the things that cause problems...they confiscated weapons for Katrina and had a huge looting/violence problem...while MS LEOs didn't bat an eye (most touched the brim of their hats and nodded) when a lot of folks stated open carrying and putting up signs that the neighborhood was armed and looters might want to look for easier pickings...we also didn't have a looting or violence problem...

The activity is LAWFUL, and Constitutionally protected under both the 2nd Amendment and the Commerce clause.
