President Trump announced he took the coronavirus test on Friday night and is awaiting results.
As the White House Coronavirus Task Force gave a press conference on Saturday, Trump told reporters that he decided to take the test in response to Friday's press conference where the president declared a state of national emergency.
"By the way, I had my temperature taken coming into the room," Trump prefaced his statement to reporters. "I also took the test last night. And I decided I should based on the press conference yesterday."
After declaring a national emergency to combat the pandemic on Friday, Trump was asked by a reporter if it was "selfish" not to be tested for the coronavirus, potentially putting others at the risk of infection."I didn't say I wasn't going to be tested," he said.
"Are you going to be?" a reporter asked.
"Most likely, yeah. Most likely. Not for that reason, but because I think I will do it anyway," the president said.
Asked when the test would happen, Trump said, "Fairly soon. We're working out a schedule."

“Our local (Indianapolis) folks at Roche Diagnostics said this morning they shipped a half million test kits that take 3 hours to give a result.”
Trump said should take day or two, he didn’t know. I think diff mfrs could have different results times, maybe some are considered better than others.
Was it oral, or written?
I think you have to factor-in individual immune systems. Some people just have stronger ones than others. I suspect Trump’s is pretty good.
“The reporters should take it too.”
No, they really shouldn’t.
Praying Psalm 91 over President Trump. Whatever evils may assail him God has his six. Pres does need some rejuvenating rest albeit.
The best available, recent research shows that the "The median incubation period was estimated to be 5.1 days (95% CI, 4.5 to 5.8 days), and 97.5% of those who develop symptoms will do so within 11.5 days (CI, 8.2 to 15.6 days) of infection."
Like IQ and mental illness
This appears to be good stuff.
A friend of mine’s wife works there, they have been putting in long hours to get this released.
Looks good, hope they have a boatload of em ready ASAP. Cutting down on time would be a big help!
Agree. Better they just do without.
>>>The President *is* fast approaching 80.
Not as fast as Grouchy Marx and Foghead Leghair.
I hope it’s negative and everything continues to go well for him and his family.
And how are you doing, Laz? You’ll pardon me, I hope, for saying I care a lot more about your health than about the President’s.
When Biden gets it. You will know because he stops breathing.
He can’t mollify the press hyenas no matter what - if it’s negative they’ll start badgering him about taking a test every week, or whatever.
One of the Left’s wishes has already been accomplished, putting the rallies on hold.
I’ve noticed that about Trump, too. Hoping he is just tired.....
I see a neural opthamologist on Monday, but from what I have read, the prognosis is pretty good in 3 to 6 months. I can wait, just fine.
TANKS for axing!
I guess that’s good news compared to the alternatives. Be careful.
And that’s a really nice tank!
I really should be wearing a mask...when I LOL!
