Can we say that part of the Wuhan virus’s effect will be to “steal” some deaths from Influenza?
In other words, a certain percentage of the population is vulnerable to flu-like viruses.
Is this logical?
It makes sense. However, we are in such an early stage of this that we only “know” a very few things. We’ll know a lot more in a few years. The good news is that most people who get it that are not already past the age of 70 will be just fine. It’s just another disease.
I’ll take it over Polio and all the other diseases we don’t even think about any more.
But yeah, all the stats need to be taken with a grain of salt. However, if I were under 40 and in good health, I’d not even worry about this thing any more than I would worry about the flu. Frankly, I’m 66 and healthy and that is my attitude.
So, that means how many beds are going to be full when you get sick? Let’s hope the is an open bed...because you will be in the ICU, on a vent, for twice as long as the flu.
I cannot imagine they wouldn’t just toss that old person out to the street in order to get YOU a bed.
But yeah. It’s just the flu, bro.
