When my daughter had a baby, I took a garden sprayer with blue food colored water and sprayed letters on the snow in their front yard; “It’s a Boy”. Their yard has a large slope so you could read it from the street.

When you go to the Reagan Library, you will see this very same map displayed. Same colors, too.
Once upon a time, the ‘Rat states were red and Republicans blue. Then on election (may have been that one) the ‘Rats complained, and the decision was made (by who I don’t know) to “alternate” election to election.
Somehow the alternation got forgot.
I have NEVER in my lifetime seen this kind of enthusiasm for a POTUS not even Reagan but then again Trump is BETTER than Reagan!!! I loved Reagan but he got steamrolled by the Dems on immigration and because of that HUGE mistake it has changed the demographics of this country FOREVER!!!

That's a fair question and the answer is it depends on how thick the ice is and how much the tractor weighs. If there's a mismatch that water is mighty cold!

Supposedly it was tv networks that started assigning the colors. From 76 which was the first color coded map on tv until 2000 conservatives were mostly blue. By 2000 too many of us realized that red was appropriate for commies and wth the internet could go around the medias claims that progressive didnt mean communist. The colors were suddenly flipped. Im still irked that blue was taken away from us. The DSA still sends its signals in red and black so they should have to own it.
