Actually, when I left that firm in ‘94 I went to work at a software startup in CT. That company had a consultant come in to give us “the talk”. I remember it not going over well at all. The prevailing attitude seemed to be “who the hell is this b!tch to tell grown men and women how to interact with each other?”.

I am no fan of Matthews but he clearly admits to todays improper behavior and accepts responsibility for what is now considered improper speech toward women but clearly was NOT considered improper back in the day.
My take is that anyone who thinks an apology is due from somebody for something said 30, 40, 50 yrs ago which at that time was perfectly fine is completely f’n NUTS!
Good looking women KNOW they are good looking and dress to accentuate their best features. Women at least the ones I new and grew up with LOVED to be complimented and told the new dress or hairstyle is flattering. Do women really believe they don’t go through all the torture they seem to go through by dieting, exercising, spending literal fortunes on salves, ointments face packs and the rest of it for only themselves and NOT to appear attractive to men? Perhaps gay women don’t but even they do this to be attractive to other women.

Again when she was in hair and makeup, he said put more makeup on her, I could fall in love with her.
Why do powerful men do this?
Hoping so the woman will see it for what it is: Being hit on and hoping the woman wants to advance her career enough to have sex with withered up old lecherous pundits.
Typical way to say Hey let’s have sex.
