Former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is ready to get her voice to the masses again, and in the most 2020 way of doing so, shes looking to podcasts. Her still-untitled show will be co-produced by iHeartMedia, a radio station conglomerate that has leaned heavily into podcasts, and it will be released this spring. Details on the show format werent readily available, but Politico suggests itll be interviews with newsmakers. Apparently both Conan OBrien, who also makes a podcast with iHeart, and radio legend Howard Stern inspired her decision.
Of course, Clinton isnt the first politician to turn to podcasts. Ted Cruz most recently launched his show first to cover President Trumps impeachment trial and then to discuss politics more broadly. The Obama familys production company Higher Ground also signed an exclusive deal with Spotify last year to produce shows, although it isnt clear whether Barack or Michelle will be hosts. Looking even further back, presidents have addressed the nation in radio-broadcasted State of the Union addresses for decades, and multiple presidents also issued a weekly address over the radio. President George W. Bush issued his weekly speeches over an RSS feed, too.
Podcasts give politicians the unique ability to control their message and discuss the topics they want on their own terms. And the cost to make a show is relatively low, meaning, even if many people dont listen, the losses arent monumental. For those who do listen, the politician has a direct line to their ears and attention.

Can’t she just go into the sunset!
This will flop unless she steals the nomination.
Will they allow her to do that from prison?....LOL
Will Satan allow her to do that from hell?...LOL
She’s like an STD that just won’t go away.
uh-oh . . . I think I’m starting to get a tingle in my leg. . . . No, it’s just my arthritis acting up again. Sorry.
Will Mini-Mike-Nanny step aside in favor of H->! ?
And the cost to make a show is relatively low, meaning, even if many people dont listen, the losses arent monumental.
...
Why would they mention that?
Meh, who doesn’t have a podcast these days?
Will she be doing from a pod?...................
Note to Hillary: You've got to pick a really catchy title to get the attention of the Millennials. May I suggest The Hillary and Harvey Show? Harvey can broadcast his part from his prison cell.
That should be exciting. She can chronicle the 365 ways that Donald J. Trump stole the election from her, and then she can start all over again next year.
“Will Satan allow her to do that from hell”?
When she dies, Satan will lock the gates of Hell so she can’t get in. He would be afraid she’d steal his job.
I still think the Democrats will give up on the presidency this year and concentrate all their cheating on the Congressional races. If they can hold the House and get control of the Senate then they can hold Trump at bay for the next four years, and harass him even more while waiting for 2024 when they have a far better chance to win the presidency. The RATs have to find someone who wont take down ballot Democrats with them when he or she loses to Trump!
Hillary’s podcast should be coming from a prison cellblock pod.
So Ted Cruz rapidly spiraled to the most listened to podcast. I suspect Clinton will start off big and within the hour be the least listened to podcast by a major figure
If Sanders gets the nomination, we take back the House, IMO.
If someone else gets the nomination, we’re likely to get back the House, IMO.
The Rats are showing their true, ugly colors and they’re scaring the hell out of normal, decent and good people.
Even on her side who wants to hear from a two time loser?
But it will have to be raspberry jam!
She'll probably charge an arm and a leg to listen to her garbage. Hasn't changed a bit.
