The scope of the "deep state" caught one top Republican by surprise.
California Rep. Devin Nunes, the ranking member on the House Intelligence Committee, spoke to Fox News host Sean Hannity on Wednesday about his efforts to raise awareness of bureaucracy within the federal government believed to be undermining President Trump.
"One thing that I tell the American people every time that I speak and I go out on the road and I talk to people is that, remember, the deep state here is much worse than even I thought it ever was," Nunes said in an interview along with Rep. Jim Jordan, an Ohio Republican, to talk about efforts to renew and reform parts of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.
Trump’s distrust of people inside the White House and the federal government has intensified since his impeachment and acquittal, and he believes his government is filled with “snakes” he wants to be fired and replaced. Steps are already being taken to weed them out.
A network of conservative activists led by Ginni Thomas, the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, is helping compile detailed memos of disloyal government officials they want to be fired, while also finding Trump loyalists to replace them, according to Axios.
Nunes, a key Trump ally who was instrumental in drawing attention to alleged government surveillance abuses against the president's 2016 campaign and leakers, also touched on the 2020 election while promoting a website he started, DefendUSA.com, to combat "the radical left, fake news media, and deep state."
The congressman said Sen. Bernie Sanders, a socialist from Vermont who is the front-runner for the Democratic presidential nomination, is their preferred candidate.
"People have to remember that this is one yard in a cloud of dust. You have to wake up every day to fight, because the socialist Left, they work hard to take over the Democratic Party. They work hard to get Bernie Sanders in the lead," Nunes said. "They're not going away."
Eisenhower warned us about it. Since then, it has metastasized throughout the bureaucracy and beyond.

You know, it’s easy for people to arm-chair quarterback and say that Trump should have fired every Obama lackey when he took office. That he should have dismantled the FBI, CIA, DOJ and etc.
Easy.
Even if he could have tried, he would have failed. And the repercussions of trying would have destroyed him.
One plays the hand they are dealt. And Trump was dealt a bad hand by a crooked dealer.
The years of Clinton/Bush/Obama administrations will not be overturned in a measly 4-5 years.

It looks like Barr and Durham could do something that didn’t last half a lifetime.. the swamp is doing what they do while the investigations go on and on.... surely they have an idea what has been going on... are they afraid to tackle the top brass they know they will have to? are they afraid to call in past Presidents? They are evil and I think their only concern for us is that we stay quiet and believe their lies, pay our taxes, and vote for them until they are practically dead.
I'll say again, what Trump his withstood and accomplished is phenomenal.
Considering Paul Ryan was involved, its likely Nunes has Deep State working on his staff.
He should review his records of anyone recommended by Ryan, McCain, Romney or Graham.
I think they are just gathering ammo that will so overwhelm The Swamp that they will not be able to counter-strike.

Ya have to have deep spiritual help to pick out the loyal and the actors... and it’s not a handful.. it’s hundreds... and thousands. who to trust and who can I trust in a month from now.
Devin and most of us assumed that the percentage of bad actors in the bureaucracy was much lower than it actually is. The fact is socialists and Marxists have purposely inserted themselves in the bowels of government in large numbers, and these poisonous cells are ready to strike after patiently laying dormant many years, if not generations.
The Big Red Scare was and is real. The problem is we declared the war against it over too early.
As things come to light, and is revealed... it gets worse... Nunes sees it as it is unraveled ... piece by piece. One man going to tell the truth was found dead... this is not something small or easy to cut through. They are ready to kill to save their hides.
The creatures of this swamp often live in houses that are worth in the vicinity of $1 million.
They want the money valve to DC opened all the way.
Socialism pays well in the DC area.
