Exactly. Pat is way behind the times. It became the Party of Sanders in 2008 when it elected Obama. He just put a more acceptable face on Socialism.

Yes. It’s inevitable. Demographic trends are taking it that way like a lost kayak in whitewater. They’re about 10 to 15 years from becoming a majority I fear.
Don’t underestimate the historical significance of Sanders’ failed 2016 run. Socialism now has a large, robust and growing fanbase in the United States. It’s not going away.
I think that it’s a pretty safe and accurate statement to say that the current edition of the “Democrat Party” is NOT an American party in any sense of that word.
They last vestige of a centrist Democrat Party died with Zell Miller. Every four years radical Democrat proposals keep shifting the American center gradually to the left through compromise or conservative surrender. George McGovern if he were alive today would likely feel somewhat comfortable in Republican circles.
He and JFK are both spinning in their graves now.
JFK’s party ceased to exist a long time ago. By comparison to today’s Dems, he looks more like Ronald Reagan.
Earth to Patrick. It hasn’t been the party of JFK since Nov. 22, 1963. It was the party of FDR before, during and after Kennedy. Under Johnson it started the long communist march through our institutions that had been thwarted in the immediate post-war period. It resumed with Kennedy’s death and has continued apace ever since. Sanders is the result, not the catalyst.
Which shows how much GOP representation has fallen off the cliff for most conservative and moderate Americans.
Given that there is zero deviation from Bernie’s principles among Dem “leaders” including all of the Prez candidates, it has in fact become the party of Bernie “Daniel Ortega” Sanders.

Fetishizing him as some kind of conservative is not accurate.
Baffling how so many people presume what a person was decades ago politically will necessarily be that same person today. JFK WAS a leftist in 1960. Reagan knew that. If folks think JFK is a “right-winger” now, it only shows how ultraleft this nation has been pushed by the corrupt and Satanic political and social classes. JFK, BTW, helped push the country in that wrong direction.
