Howard Dean: Trump would give Alaska to Putin
Washington Examiner ^ | 23/2/20 | Emily Larsen

Howard Dean said President Trump would give Alaska back to Russia if Russian President Vladimir Putin asked while suggesting the eventual 2020 Democratic presidential nominee would be less likely to do so after going through a grueling nomination process.

"I used to say this all the time. Now it has a new meaning. But if you're not tough enough to get through this process, what are you going to do when Putin asks for Alaska back? Well, unfortunately, we have a president who would give it to him today, but hopefully, that will change," the former Vermont governor and 2004 Democratic presidential candidate said Sunday on CNN.

"Alaska still part of the United States as of right now, just for the record," CNN host Jake Tapper noted.

"That's right," Dean said.

Some Russian nationalists regret the sale of Alaska to the U.S. more than 150 years ago. When asked about the issue in 2014, Putin said that “we don’t need to get worked up about this,” while also warning that the American missile system in Alaska is “one of the most pressing security issues.”

Rather than looking to sell off U.S. land, Trump has reportedly sought to expand American territory by asking advisers last year about the possibility of buying Greenland.

The dire urgency of protecting Alaska from Putin’s grasp!

Ironically, I have a friend who’s a Russian ex pat, and because he spent time in America, and is a banker, he’s afraid to even visit Russia, because there he’s a suspected American spy and a capitalist. DARRS virus is loose, making the whole world stupid.

Wow. Doesn't Dean realize how stupid he sounds spouting drivel like this? Talk about dumbing down.

The democRAT frontrunner is more than likely to turn the US into Russia if he wins.

Sanders embraces everything socialist and communist and disdains anything American.

He wants to be president so he can destroy America.

As a prominent Dem Presidential candidate, he either is unaware of how treaties are made...or he’s just demogogueing people he knows to be such idiots.

Ok, what fool woke Dean up from the has been bin?

Next up? Perhaps Michael Dukakis? He at least made it past the primaries to be the Democrat Candidate in 1988. Wonder what words of 'wisdom' he would have now?

It’s good that Jake is there to verify these things for us.

Thats so funny. With Democrats running the show we might as well sell Alaska to Russia to make some money.

Under Democrats, no oil or gas drilling, no logging, no gold mining, no salmon fishing.

When I was in Alaska in the late 90’s they hated Clinton because he essentially shut down most of their economy.

I think President Trump should sell California to Denmark In a trade for Greenland. We would lose a lot of agricultural land but we would gain by getting rid of left wing radicals.

Greenland is like a vault waiting to be opened.

Not a lie, ridiculous speculation. Anyone with a high-school civics class would know that POTUS can’t unilaterally sell off an entire state. You’d need Congress’ approval, and it’s not even worth discussing.

But just a cotton pickin’ minit here. Let’s be fair. He could just look the other way while the Spetznaz parachuted in. And then high school students would form guerilla units called “Wolverines”...

On the other hand, the leftards are destroying California agriculture anyway.
