From Office of Management and Budget: ""Today, the Administration is transmitting to Congress a $2.5 billion supplemental funding plan to accelerate vaccine development, support preparedness and response activities and to procure much needed equipment and supplies"

"The President's priority is protecting the homeland, and the Administration is working aggressively to minimize the risk of the virus spreading in the United States," OMB Director Russell Vought wrote in a letter to lawmakers obtained by The Hill.

President Trump: “The Coronavirus is very much under control in the USA. We are in contact with everyone and all relevant countries,” Trump tweeted. “CDC & World Health have been working hard and very smart. Stock Market starting to look very good to me!”

Hopefully all of the funds are used strictly here in the US to defend the homeland and Americans. Shut our borders if necessary. China can fend for themselves, maybe turn over their nukes, disband their military if they need our money and help. Same with Iran and others. Our help should come with a steep price to improve our security, to protect us.

The drug companies will make out like bandits with this. Wonder if that San Diego company that claims to have a vaccine to test will now backtrack to soak up some of these funds?

“House Democrats said they would instead draft their own funding bill for the virus”

The house Democrats need to inject a cookie jar into the bill!

ALERT: Coronavirus merges with Trump Derangement Syndrome

A pandemic tanking the stock market may be Democrats’ best hope for winning in 2020, and they can barely contain their glee

Bring Out Your Dead

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.

So far the false positive rate is 100%.

At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.

*sigh* Such is life, and death...

If a quarantine saves just one child's life, it's worth it.

Climate change is still the Democrats’ top funding priority. And to fight climate change, we need to fund more services to illegal aliens, I mean immigrants.

I trust the new $1.25 Billion is coming out of a “FedGov rainy day emergency fund” and isn’t going to be additional “printed $$$”? {/sarc}

Build the wall before infected Mexicans and Central Americans flood the border.

Disease containment is a very valid reason for a wall.

Just $1.25 billion of the request is for new funding, with the rest requested to be taken from existing health programs, including $535 million from fighting Ebola.

How about taking away 100% of funding from all "climate change" research across several agencies? After all, the "science is settled", so who needs more redundant B.S. studies?

Booker returns pharma executive’s money after he claimed he hadn’t accepted any

Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Cory Booker returned a donation from an executive at a pharmaceutical company after ABC News reported on it, according to a campaign aide. During last week’s presidential debate, the former Newark mayor took a strong stance against the pharmaceutical industry, saying that pharmaceutical companies should be “held criminally liable” for the health and opioid crisis across the country and further stated that his campaign doesn’t take contributions from the industry’s corporate PACs and executives.

So the Democrats are obstructing the work of the Trump Administration again, even if that Democrat stalling tactic might cost many American lives.

"The Trump administration’s request for emergency funding is woefully insufficient to protect Americans from the deadly coronavirus outbreak," said House Appropriations Committee Chairwoman Nita Lowey (D-N.Y.).

Meaning they all have people to pay off.

The Trump administration’s request for emergency funding is woefully insufficient to protect Americans ...

Trump asks for $2.5 Billion, Democrats only want to give him $1.5. Then the Democrats says his funding is insufficient. Playing politics. A prime example of what Democrats will do if put in charge of the health care system.
