White House asking Congress for $2.5 billion to fight coronavirus

It's likely the president knows less than we know. Trump is good at business, he is not a scientist. He's surrounded by corporate minds, not scientists. He should get ahead of this, have bills ready not for "funding" but for a total reordering of our essential supply chains. Interest free loans, and expedited approvals for new chemical factories to make the raw ingredients necessary for our medications etc. Bill for the government to pay for all coronavirus testing, etc. Our system is woefully inadequate for a pandemic. The vast networks of for-profit hospitals and health networks, various insurance plans, 50 state health departments each with their own priorities and politics. This is going to be a disaster, and if his current "actions" are any indication, we'll have a new president in January.

When I supported Trump in 2015, I remarked that his strongest skill would be delegating to competent people, as I assumed that's how he ran his companies. The track record shows his ability to delegate is abysmal. His ability to get ahead of the curve is abysmal. He's going on about the election 2016 and polls from back then still at his rallies. Do not look for help from the government, save yourselves.
