Prediction: the Dems and NeverTrumpers will soon form a unity party, or should I say, will make what has long existed official. They will believe that the path to preservation lies in a Romney/Bloomy (or something akin) ticket.
For years the uni party has viewed elections as intramural sport. Each side tipping the cap in the event of loss but back slapping behind closed doors and moving the statist agenda forward. The losing side making pretend noises of having a different goal and wanting different things. But really, it was just a question of who won the House Cup for that season.
Funny thing happened on the way to preserving the illusion for the masses. The Dems has to sound more and more radical to keep their base engaged and the GOP has to pretend to be conservative.
The GOP went first in losing their base as it was more quick to abandon them when one brave man came forth and told it like it was.
For the Dems, it has been more of a case of Frankenstein’s monster. Leftist, anti-American radicalism has lead them to an increasingly over radicalized, campus bred monster. The monster is out and Bernie is its head. But not far behind him are AOC and the children.
Now, it’s their turn, except their monster isn’t going to be appealing to the voters they need to win. Oh no, instead it feeds on them.
Popcorn? Their isn’t enough.
