Oh oh.....The current forecasts are Bernie will have the most delegates but be short of 50%+1 to secure the nomination of the first ballot. Based on current DNC rules the close to 800 Super Delegates can vote starting with the 2nd ballot. Still way too early but we could be in for something not seen since 1976.

If I recall correctly, in 1976, Jimmy Carter had a plurality of delegates , but not a majority, after the end of the primary season in 1976. Between the end of the primaries and the convention, the bandwagon started up, and uncommitted delegates, and those pledged to minor candidates, committed to Carter so he had majority support on the 1st ballot.
