Acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney told a crowd at a private gathering in England on Wednesday night that the Trump administration “needs more immigrants” for the U.S. economy to continue growing, according to a audio recording of his remarks obtained by The Washington Post.
“We are desperate — desperate — for more people,” Mulvaney said. “We are running out of people to fuel the economic growth that we’ve had in our nation over the last four years. We need more immigrants.”
The Trump administration wants those immigrants to come in a “legal fashion,” Mulvaney said, according to the recording....
Trump has waffled on the subject, at times suggesting that he would like to curb legal immigration and at times saying he would like to increase it.

Need more immigrants to “continue growth”. No, maybe that is NOT what we need to preserve American culture. Maybe all kinds of realities and standards need to adjust to population. But not flood in the 3rd world every time the population dips, etc.
And also, white Christian people should not be excluded. South Africans are not welcome. Europeans and Brits find it very difficult to immigrate.

There’s a ton of smart folks in STEM here at home. And any STEM worker is a short training program away from a new skill in his/her repertoire. Unlike India and Chinese workers, they don’t lie about their skills, either.

Legal immigrants are statistically significantly less likely to be a democrat voter than an illegal. So while the majority of them may not be likely republicans, they don’t help your voter recruitment objectives.

Allowing legal immigrants who will help our country grow is NOT the same as letting third world people walk in for a free ride OR to take entry level jobs from Americans or to ‘work under the table’ - - keeping wages down.

Absolutely true. We have a huge problem with snowflakes, drugs and severely under qualified young people. Look at our colleges and look at Bernie/Democrat followers. There needs to be a reawakening.
I really do hope you are right about that, but I’m personally having a very hard time seeing that in any of the young people that I know.
We should employ our people, Americans. We should properly educate them and employ them, and we should not import large numbers of foreign workers here. I do not know how to get that started, but that is what needs to happen. Our schools have become an threat to our country, because they constantly turn out idiots.
