Morning Joe on Debate: Trump 'Big Winner in Spades,' Donny's 'Absolutely Panicked'
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 02/20/2020 7:23:24 AM PST by governsleastgovernsbest

Pity the poor liberal media. The Democrats staged a nasty debate last night, and the man who emerged the "big winner" was none other than... President Trump! So said Joe Scarborough and Donny Deutsch on today's Morning Joe.

Willie Geist said "They tore the skin" off of Michael Bloomberg. Making matters much worse, Donny divined that Bernie Sanders is "rolling" toward the nomination, yet has "no shot" at beating Trump. That left poor Donny upset, that "two-thirds of this country thinks we're going in the right direction, and you have a guy who wants to burn it down? To me, I just don't see him having any shot in a general election. And I'm panicked. I am absolutely panicked."

“ What should Operation Chaos do? Stand by or put life back into Biden?”

Suspend. It is too risky. Let them fight it out among themselves.

Nice line about the debate:

“Mike Bloomberg brought a wallet to a knife fight.”

Agreed. Ultimately Bloomberg may be able to buy himself the nomination, but by the time Fauxahontas is done ripping him new arseholes few Dems will actually vote for him.

I don't like Bloomberg, but in the brief part I saw he made Sanders look bad.

Biden will get back in the race once they hot states that aren't all white.

put life back into Biden?....Impossible. He’s brain dead,Jim.

He's just resting. Okay, maybe he's stunned. He was just waking up, and something Trump said stunned him.

“What should Operation Chaos do? Stand by or put life back into Biden?”

Cast your vote based on the 15% rule. The democrats changed their primary systems to proportional voting after the last election. So every candidate gets delegates based on their percentage. They put in a floor of 15%. To get delegates they must have at least 15% of the vote. My theory is that we want a contested convention with as many candidates as possible with delegates. If we vote for the candidate polling nearest to 15% in our state before the primary we can keep as many of them alive as long as possible. I say nearest to 15% because all polls have a margin of error. So a candidate polling 16.5% might only get 14.9% of the vote and fail to get delegates. By keeping as many of these losers alive as possible, hopefully all the way to the convention, we create disunity and distrust. Imagine if we could keep six candidates viable, Crazy Bernie, Mayor Pete, Liawatha, Bite Me, Klobuchar and mini-mike. The convention goes to a second or third vote. Deals get made, hopefully, several of them get screwed over. Disunity and an even bigger victory in November.

My district in Texas has no primary races of interest to me therefore I can indulge in this. By all means though if you have a chance to vote against the GOPe in the primary that is where you need to cast your ballot.

Bloomberg has the money and the drive to get past these massive and humiliating rookie mistakes. He will be better prepared for the obvious lines of attack very soon. He will be in Milwaukee.

Klobuchar almost ran from the stage crying at the end. She is polling in 6th in Nevada. She is likely gone by Monday.

I'm betting that Warren will drop after Super Tuesday. Her sad 9% in NH, right in her own back yard, tells me that she won't go far this cycle. (That, and her voice, when she gets energized... screeching... nails on a chalkboard... yikes.)

Biden drops soon after Warren, because he still won't finish in the Top 3 in most states, even when it is down to a 4-dog race.

Mayor Pete stays in until just before Milwaukee, giving good speeches, mostly staying above the mud-slinging, and polishing himself for future runs.

Then it is down to Bernie vs Bloomberg... rich Communist who hates anyone making money vs uber-rich capitalist who simply wants power... fighting for the chance to take on the rich President who likes seeing many people get rich (as long as he gets credit for it).

The DNC sees polls where neither can beat Trump, and so they force a brokered convention. They nominate ANYONE who is polling ahead of Trump that month. Bernie bots burn Milwaukee for an entire week.

Just my predictions... and those are almost always wrong. :)

Yet, every time I hear/see a poll cited it shows all potential Demonrat candidates beating the POTUS in a general election.

Always remember that every national poll includes kalifornia, and it gets 11% of the sample which skews it left from the get go.

No worries mate.

“...nominate ANYONE who is polling ahead of Trump that month ...”

I don’t think that person exists. I think they nominate anyone who can protect the lower end of the ticket. Meaning protect Rat control of the House, as a minimum their current numbers in the Senate, governorships & state legislatures. I am not sure that person exists!

Joe’s in a good mood, must have gotten some last night.

Some what, extra chocolate sauce on his ice cream?

Joe has long since forgotten about using his shriveled male parts in any act.

He gets his rise by smelling leg hair etc.

Bloomberg has many huge problems in the General Election, though. Not only is the DNC exposing every one of his bigoted comments from the recent past, and not only are there multiple scandals from his time as Mayor of NYC (that the NYTimes was happy to splash on the front pages, since Bloomberg was a Republican), but the Left will also have a huge problem in convincing the less-motivated and mushy middle voters that it is somehow imperative to replace one opinionated rich old white NYC Republican male with another opinionated rich old white NYC Republican male... especially when the current one is doing really really well with the economy.

Then the DNC also has to retain the monolithic black vote, when the potential new clone has some rather racist comments and programs in his past, and the current clone has not only had no actual demonstrations of racism, but is also celebrated in over 120 rap lyrics.

Even the height optics don't work in Bloomberg's favor...

And finally, it could simply be that Bloomberg cannot learn to handle slings and arrows like he got last night. I will assume that his team will be prepping him far better for the future, but President Trump has been dealing with even worse, for decades, and is almost always smiling as he takes it on. Bloomberg may not have time to learn how to "grin and bear it" in just 8.5 months. That would get extremely pronounced and make a very stark contrast in any debates with our President.

His comment shows how truly stupid he is. Why should he be panicked by another 4 years of Trump when two thirds of the people like what he’s doing?

Would somebody please ask him that?

“Bloomberg is definitely the bigger threat. They can prop him up both as the savior to all the desperate democrats, but as the moderate to all the independents.”

He’s definitely the sanest one in that asylum, that’s why he looked so out of place there. Unfortunately for him he joined the party full of lunatics who would rather stay home than vote for him.
