Maybe they should just sneak out at night and repaint the Oregon/Idaho border so that it is to the west of their community (when I was little, the first time I flew in a plane I expected to be able to look down and see the border lines between states laid out on the ground, just like a map).
Aside from being basically impossible, if it would would turn a red congressional district blue (or even help to do so), it’s also idiotic.
Political ideals, no matter how correct, are irrelevant........if ya don’t win.
..........
E WA, N CA, E OR, W VA are all punching bags for liberally controlled legislatures.
...........
God bless you for wanting to secede, start a new state, join another state, start another country, etc. Because you truly are disenfranchised rural cultures that want to self govern within your culture and society.
............
The problem is that Congress has to call that play. They are the wrong people to do anything as sensible as what you want. Congress is not going to add more Senators, by reshuffling the same deck of cards.
............
You are throwing a lot of political energy into a losing cause. If you want to expand your mailing lists, OK.
...........
Struggle for something you have a chance of winning.
This makes sense, but is it doable?
Have territories of states ever left a state and moved to another state?
I guess WV?
Not going to happen. Won’t pass the Oregon legislature and wouldn’t make it through the House eve if it did.
The union is pretty much dissolved and most states should be broken apart politically. The scum swarm of liberals who exodus their former sh*thole states are destroying the conservative states.
A lot of us in SW Oregon want serious change, too. I was thinking more along the lines of running the Willamette Valley liberals out of the State, though.
There have been many state to state land changes and adjustments.
...........
And many between the US and Mexico and Canada.

This process would actually happen faster and be more likely to stand in court than the formation of a new state.
This is an excellent idea and we should all support it.
