The Antarctic undersea volcanoes couldn’t possibly have anything to do with it.

I’m old enough to remember the last time the ice cap melted.
In 2013.
(According to the BBC anyway).

The earth was once much warmer.

Also as a footnote it included the Sahara desert was running out of sand thanks to Climate Change. Will this madness ever end. Are we doomed to an iceless Antarctica with a warm climate? or a sandless desert with nothing as far as the eye can see nothing but bare ground?

I live right by the ocean on Long Island and they’ve been saying this crap for the past 30 years and the water has not even so much as budged an inch higher than normal discounting storms. By what these guys say all of long island should be under 50 feet of water by now. And another thing: If you go to Manhattan New York city and drive down the FDR drive, when you pass the Brooklyn bridge you’ll reach a point where the land is the lowest and the water the highest from the East river. I mean only a few feet separate the road from the water. If the polar caps are melting why isn’t that southern part of Manhattan island completely under water? It’s been like that at least since the 1700s when those road were created, yet no flooding.

purging carbon from the atmosphere was the only solution to slow the process, an Australian climate scientist told Reuters on Wednesday.Say what? Wait. Does purging mean the same in Australian as it does in English?
A) If we removed carbon from the atmosphere, where would we put it?
B) What would plants eat?

the only thing that would slow down the ice melting was if economies across the world began de-carbonising themselves
That settles it, all Journalists shall report for immediate de carbonising to save the planet.

Wait. Removing all the carbon would only slow the process? To what? How much time would that buy us?

I doubt it but if true it will be wonderful to see what is beneath all that ice. Plus, it would open a massive amount land and resources for everybody. Imagine the potential.

Wait a minute. If that ice is resting on the seabed, most of the water has been already been displaced, has it not? So, melting wouldn’t change anything.
