The rule last week was that one person may go out and get food every 7 days (it was every 3 days).

Now no one may leave the buildings?

If no one may go out at all then what is the city government doing to distribute food (even rice) to these closed apartment buildings?

Who is working at the power plants and the water utilities to keep power and water flowing?

Why do I think that only the mayor and his cronies are getting resupplied?

They may feel that they have a city of 11 million “useless eaters”.

There is at least one video online that shows police in China, in masks and gloves, distributing food to people in an apartment building. The residents of the building would lower a bucket on a rope from their balcony, police would load supplies into it, and then the residents would haul the bucket back up. They seemed to be doing their best to keep track of which apartments got which supplies, and were trying to distribute things evenly.

It did not look like an organized system by any means, but it did look like people were doing their best to look out for each other, both the police on the ground, and the residents in the building.

I don’t know if that video was showing the exception or the norm. But it does show that at least *some* of the police there are making sure residents get food even when they can’t get out.
