Boy Scouts bankruptcy filing expected within hours, victims’ lawyers say
The Boy Scouts of America, after decades of being crippled by child sex abuse claims, plans to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy by early Tuesday, the Daily News has learned.

In a case I recently learned about by accident, the guy was a merit badge counselor, not a leader. I remember well how that worked, the scout would contact the counselor and arrange for a time to meet to learn the skill or whatever the merit badge was. Often that meant going to the counselors home or workplace, and maybe more than once. You had to complete certain tasks so it would not be uncommon to be working with a counselor for several weeks or months. That’s when this guy would develop a friendship with the boy and then proceed to take advantage of it.
This was back in the 1960s when all he got was a fine and blackballed from the boy scouts for life, the “letter in your permanent file” routine. He did seem to stop or at least not get caught as he had no further criminal record. Back then the shame and fear of being exposed was a deterrent, but nobody even thought of lawyers or financial settlements.

My scoutmaster pled no contest to child molestation of Scouts and did a stretch in state prison. His wife divorced him while he was in jail and later he ended up dead in his mid 50’s.
Good riddance.

Pediofiles are not men. A real man guides a boy into doing whats right. As a former scout leader we practiced 2 deep leadership to ensure that no boy was ever left alone with an adult. Problem with the scouts is that they ignored all of this and implimented it too late. The death nail thanks to that idiot Robert Gates and the dumbass Rex Tillerson, they would not allow any corporate sponsorship unless gays were allowed in. Scouts should have gotten rid of those 2 assholes right then and there, and stood for the principles that Baden Powell stood for, and the media and homo lobby be damned! I’m glad my son eagled 2 years before they implimented this stupid policy. I protested corporate when they were voting on it. They proceeded and I said to hell with them at that point as well. Homosexuals and liberals are a cancer. They only destroy.

It was a term we used as kids for some weird or effeminate guy. I assume it originally came from the word “homos”.
I am fortunate to have participated in the Young Men’s Christian Association’s Indian Guides, the Cub Scouts and the Boy Scouts. The Left destroyed the Indian Guides—got them disbanded for being “racist”—and they’re about to succeed with the Boy Scouts.
Fortunately, organizations like Trail Life USA are stepping in to fill the vacuum.
When they went fag, this day was inevitable.

There are lots of homosexuals married to people of the opposite sex. As your post demonstrates, it gives them cover when they want it.
My days as a Scout in the 1960s are some of my best memories.
This is sad and maddening at the same time.

I know there were and are good men in the boy scouts.....but they got over run...
