I think that Lindsey reflexively applied the prudential principle against potentially inflammatory comments by a President that might influence a jury. Yet the jury phase of the case is over and judges are supposed to be immune to the influence of even inflammatory comments by a President.
Judges are supposed to be immune to the influence of even inflammatory comments by a President. If not, the judge should recuse herself from the case — or be removed by the Court of Appeals. In any event, as President, Trump is the federal government’s chief executive and may criticize subordinate officials and give them direction as he thinks best. There is no law against a President doing what Trump said and did.
How can it be ongoing when Stone had already been tried, convicted and sentenced.
Trump could pardon Stone at any time, even now. Can’t figure out why he’d let this drag out unless Trumps after others somehow associated with this case.
Graham is in the Russia hoax up to his scrawny neck.

I take it that you are not a lawyer..and certainly missed the part where i said that next time he does this you might not want the person to get off.
Trump is opening the door for an argument even if it really had nothing to do with Judges decision...and you may want Stone to walk but you might not want the next one to walk.

Not all judges are unbiased in all cases..even though they are suppose to be.

I caught Andrew McCarthy on Fox Business a little while ago. He said the sentencing is up to the judge with input from the probation department. He said the DOJ sentencing guideline snafu is theatrical controversy.
