Post Impeachment, a Key Republican Suburban Area Rallies Around Trump. Voters in the populous, heavily Republican suburbs west of Milwaukee did not entirely embrace Donald Trump in 2016. They do now.

...

The third impeachment trial in American history ended on Wednesday not with a bang but with a whimper. But here in Waukesha County, a patchwork of suburbs, small cities and rural areas west of Milwaukee that holds more Republican votes than any other county in this crucial swing state, there was a nervous excitement.

Yard signs have been flying off the shelves in the county Republican Party’s headquarters in a strip mall near a vegan food supply store. More than 150 people showed up for a State of the Union watch party on Tuesday night, applauding and cheering in a giant hall. And volunteers like Diane Schlosser, a 63-year-old homemaker, have been walking in off the street to sign up.

“We got tired of yelling at the TV,” she said, cleaning up plates of pretzels and bags of popcorn after Tuesday’s party.

The path to the presidency runs through Wisconsin, one of the three key industrial states, along with Pennsylvania and Michigan, that flipped by narrow margins and gave Mr. Trump the presidency in 2016. Mr. Trump won the state by fewer than 23,000 votes, setting up a battle of inches in this year’s presidential race.

Suburban places like Waukesha will be key this year in Wisconsin and nationwide. But though many are trending toward the Democrats, that is hardly universal. These suburbs west of Milwaukee are less white and more educated than they used to be, but over all they have changed much more slowly than suburbs in states like Virginia, Georgia and Arizona.

...

[I]n about two dozen interviews over three days, many Republicans said that while they voted for Mr. Trump reluctantly in 2016, they no longer felt hesitant. They pointed to the booming economy, Mr. Trump’s judicial appointments and the conservative stances he has adopted

Waukesha is part of the WOW counties in WI. They aren’t swing counties. Solid GOP.

They make up for the Democrat strongholds in Dane and Milwaukee counties.

We aren’t going to truly understand how important President Trump was to the future of the conservatives and Republican Party until the next Republican POTUS cannot assemble the diverse coalition he has been able to put together.

Image result for Pelosi speech

I hoped she enjoyed her smile.

It's going to be her last for a long, long time.

While you’re 100% right, never lose sight that we have Trump because of Romney.

Democrats did the impossible: they unified the Republican Party behind Trump.

“These suburbs west of Milwaukee are less white and more educated”

right, NYT, because educated people and non-white people won’t vote for President Trump ... but think again you morons, because if you don’t, you’re gonna be more shocked than you can possibly imagine ... everyone but hard core leftists are completely fed up with the do-nothing Democrats and disgusted with the gaggle of kommie Dem candidates for Prez ... not only will Trump win with blowout numbers, he’s going to take the so-called popular vote, AND his coattails for the down ballots are going to be like nothing every seen before ...

Good God the NYT can’t even do a Wikipedia lookup?

“Waukesha County is the largest Republican-leaning county in Wisconsin and has been one of the GOP’s most solid suburban strongholds for many years. It has not supported a Democrat for president since 1964, and has only supported a Democrat four other times since 1892.”

And it is not only in Waukesha, Wisconsin, but in collar communities of metropolitan areas all around the US. Mike Bloomberg has to be tracking this phenomenon, and maybe, just maybe, feel a little daunted by what he sees as the task ahead.

That’s all right. 2024 will be here before you know it.

Maybe by then Democrats can get a little traction. They are now bellied down right up to the axles in the slickest mud in the world.

It was Mitt's turn to lose. Had it been somebody else's turn, you'd be writing of him now.

“This is a warning piece from a Slimes reporter to the rest of her Democrat brethren!”

absolutely!

fortunately, they’re not listening - to anyone. last night, James Carville was absolutely apoplectic about the insane lurches the Dems have taken to the left ... the Dems won’t listen to him either ... Tuesday, November 3rd, 2020 is going to be the biggest popcorn night in U.S. history!
