Palestinians Should Give Trump Peace Plan a Chance

President Donald Trump's brilliant plan for Mideast peace has triggered a sandstorm of negativity and deflection from the regular naysayers who attack anything the president says and does.

Critics of his recently unveiled peace aimed at resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict should instead scrutinize the document and recognize its merits.

This peace plan was carefully crafted over multiple years under the leadership of Jared Kushner, relying heavily on expert economic analysis, intelligence data and security assessments. Kushner deserves credit for preparing this thorough blueprint for peace between two peoples who have been at war for far too long.

Actually, one of the most interesting and revealing reactions to the peace plan has been the response of the political parties within Israel, who have a history of staunch disagreement on nearly every issue.

However, Israelis across the highly divided political spectrum have expressed firm support for Trump's plan, an almost unprecedented feat. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu welcomed the plan, as did his political centrist rival Benny Gantz, leader of the Blue and White party.

The simple reason for this resounding consensus is that Trump's plan makes sense. The plan is responsible, fair and measured. If both the Israelis and Palestinians were to accept the conditions outlined in this plan, it would be a win-win situation.

Under this new two-state peace plan, a viable sovereign state for the Palestinians would be created, which is exactly what they say they have been longing for. The Palestinians would gain open access between the West Bank and Gaza, have prisoners returned and be granted a whopping $50 billion in financial aid. Palestinians would also be compensated for lost West Bank territories with the gifting of areas close to the Egyptian border.

In the weeks ahead, look for apologists of Palestinian terrorism to show their true colors by rejecting this plan as a basis for renewed negotiations and instead continue their tired tactic of slandering Israel with blood libels, false accusations and an endless stream of venom.

Case in point, see the latest anti-Israel hatred shared by U.S. Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib. After retweeting an accusation that Israelis murdered a Palestinian child and threw his body down a well, this lie was completely debunked when it was confirmed that the child drowned accidentally as a result of flooding. Rather than apologize, Tlaib issued a statement that she would "strive to hold myself to the highest standards for what I share."

The American people deserve better from their representatives in Congress. And the Palestinian people deserve leaders who will finally forego their commitment to attacking Israel in favor of the route so clearly laid out for them in the Trump administration's peace plan.

Pali's don't want "peace".

If Israel were gone they'd find somebody else to fight and kill.

Too late. The fakestinians have already rejected the “peace plan.” Use the $ to end their Satanic Occupation of Israel’s territories and repatriate, remove them to moslem- conquered countries. Then wait a couple hundred (?) years and maybe just maybe Islam will have some sort of reformation ?

Two questions:

1. I assume that the $50 billion in aid to the Palestinians will come from the U.S. taxpayer. Am I wrong?

2. Why in the world would the Palestinians accept permanent foreign outposts (the Israeli settlements) in the middle of their land? No patriot anywhere would accept such a thing.

Side point: I am not saying that Israel should abandon those settlements. I’m just being the devil’s advocate here, trying to see things from the Palestinian point of view.

Side point: Even if those settlements were evacuated, there would not be peace. The Palestinians want it all, all of Jerusalem and all of Israel.

“50 billion dollars is how much per Palestinian?”

For about 50 of them, about a billion a piece. For the rest of them, bupkis.

It gives Israel everything it's wanted. What's not to like?

A Jewish friend on Jews & politics.

If you have 3 Jews you have 5 political parties.

“their land”. By what authority has the land been unequivocally been assigned to the Palestinians? By right of conquest, no? China’s territorial claims in the South China Sea are being adjudicated by force and it is a fair accompli. Trump’s proposal simply acknowledges the same reality that occurred 72 years ago. The Jews will not, should not and won’t give ground to people openly trying to destroy them.

I say “their land” simply because the Palestinians are there, and have been there for hundreds of years. They are on the land their great-grandfathers owned. That might not be a legal claim, but it is a fact.

I agree. This is not a land dispute that can be permanently settled by some compromise. The Palestinians want it all, including all of Israel. So I really don’t think there is any good solution here. Israel will have to remain armed and vigilant forever.

From the Palestinian Arabs’ point of view, once land is under Islam, it remains under Islam forever. They will never accede to a sovereign Jewish State there. They want Israel gone and Jews gone. Period.

Trying to bribe them with economic rewards or offers of self rule in a partition of the area won’t work.

“It gives Israel everything it’s wanted. What’s not to like? “

Of course it is going to get a positive response in Israel. Imagine if the Palestinians and some Arab country came out with a peace plan that said;

Borders based on 1947 Partition Plan for Palestine
Full right of return of Palestinian refugees and their descendants.
All West bank settlements returned to their 1967 owners.
Free movements of peoples and goods between Israel and Palestine.
Both countries are allowed to have a military and full control of their airspace and exterior borders.

Do you think there would be much opposition from Palestinians?
Do you think there would be much support in Israel?

You forgot Jerusalem unified and under Palestinian control with Israel's capital in western suburbs and Israel getting territory in the Gaza Desert to make up for the lost settlements.

And the answer, of course, is no. Israel would never stand for it. And the Palestinians will not agree to this agreement. About all that this scheme of Kushner's accomplishes is it removes the U.S. forever from any part in any negotiations between Israel and Palestinians. It leaves the matter to them alone. Settle it, don't settle it, it's up to them.

Yeah, Gantz is so open to the deal that he sends out his henchman to compare Trump to Hitler.

Ya can’t make this stuff up!

3. Palestinians (surrounded by nuclear power Israel) agree to disarm.

4. Travel from the West Bank to Gaza will be via an underground tunnel.

Not sure what 25 books that Jared Kushner read that makes him an expert. I would rather he and his wife go incognito to Gaza, live there 9 months, then go live incognito in the West Bank for 3 months.
