Leaders of 2020 DNC Host Committee fired (Milwaukee, WI)

The two leaders of Milwaukee's host committee for the 2020 Democratic National Convention are out.

Late Tuesday, the board for the Milwaukee 2020 Host Committee terminated President Liz Gilbert and her chief of staff, Adam Alonso. The move comes just one day after the board suspended the pair and launched an investigation into “toxic workplace” allegations.

The Journal Sentinel reported Tuesday that a group of senior women staffers wrote an unsigned letter last week complaining of being "bullied and intimidated" by Alonso — something they said Gilbert did nothing to stop. They said Alonso's actions fostered a "toxic and unstable" culture.

"Every employee has a right to feel respected in their workplace," said a one-page statement from the board.

"Based on the information we have learned to date, we believe the work environment did not meet the ideals and expectations of the Milwaukee 2020 Host Committee Board of Directors. Accordingly, Liz Gilbert and Adam Alonso are no longer employed by the organization, effective immediately."

The letter said the board will continue its investigation into the claims about the troubled workplace.

When the staffers' complaints first surfaced, the board hired the local firm of Foley & Lardner to coordinate the investigation. Foley has since brought on another firm — Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart — to look into the specific accusations and report its findings to the board.

No timeline has been set for the investigation.

"The work of the Milwaukee 2020 Host Committee is critically important — but that work cannot be accomplished unless members of the staff can work collaboratively," said the board statement. "The Board is committed to an inclusive and supportive environment at the Host Committee, and will work to ensure that all employees live up to these ideals."

“..that a group of senior women staffers ..”

Those “seniors” would be 18-21 year olds in a democrat setting.

Are they still good enough to send to Iowa where they may be pressured to count all the way up to 100?

Hoisted by their own petards. They have encouraged and fostered a snowflake attitude. I don’t know the specifics here, maybe these two were particularly abusive in some cruel way.

But look at the insurgency inside the Democratic party. The establishment has caved to the radical and loud back benchers and their far left. And the news is full of stories about kids on college campuses being ‘triggered’ just by the idea that someone may speak with a different view than their own.

A political campaign is going to be demanding work with a lot of people trying to get results to climb their professional ladder. But you’re right - if the Dem primaries continue to split delegates like in Iowa there will be no clear winner and it will come down to the super delegates and a brokered convention. Chaos. Bloomberg could very well be the kingmaker and if he doesn’t want it for himself he is very unlikely to support Sanders or Warren.

Liberals know nothing about running anything. Unfortunately, they have half the country who will give them keys to everything.

It’s going to be hard to have a brokered convention without a convention. Can CPUSA procure Bernie an honest ballot spot in all 58 states?

According to the previous thread on this, the two were being investigated for shady business deals with their New Jersey friends. This talk about sexual harassment is just a cover for the corruption investigation.

“I wish they were not going to have their rotten convention in Wisconsin, but nobody asked me.”

Agreed. However, the Delegates aren’t even STAYING in Milwaukeestan! They’ll be staying in Illinois and will be bused back and forth each day!

Insanity!

“Those’“seniors’ would be 18-21 year olds in a democrat setting.”

My thoughts, exactly! They’re all a bunch of kids who have been told from Day One that they are special and wonderful and a gift to the world!

This is probably their first ‘job’ - and someone was MEAN to them, LOL! Hostile Workplace, my Aunt Fanny! Join the ARMY if you want to see a ‘hostile workplace!’

*SNORT*

I have put together conferences for hundreds of people; not to THIS magnitude, but I KNOW what it entails. You’re not going to get things DONE by being NICE to Snowflake Staffers!

Oh, this is going to be so delicious. It’ll be interesting watching my Hometown burn to the ground. ;)
