2019 Novel Coronavirus Case is Confirmed in Wisconsin (12th case)

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS), UW Hospital and Clinics, the local health department, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have confirmed the first case of 2019 novel coronavirus in Wisconsin. The case was confirmed at the CDC. The immediate health risk to the general public for contracting this virus is low.

The patient is an adult with a history of travel to Beijing, China prior to becoming ill and was exposed to known cases while in China. The individual is isolated at home, and is doing well. Out of respect for the privacy of the patient and their household, this is the only information that is available.

Notice every area/sector/quadrant whatever you want to call it of the US has an infected case-almost as if it was planned that way.

Nonsense! The Johns Hopkins web site shows that the cases occurring in the U.S. are NOT spread evenly. They have occurred in cities where one would expect travel from China; e.g. Seattle, Los Angeles, Chicago.

The John Hopkins map shows no cases confirmed in the southeast or the midwest. Chicago and Wisconsin are the closest to being in the middle of the country.

There are only 11 cases in the U.S. and fewer than 300 which have been confirmed worldwide outside of China. Containment has been working, so far.

The huge number of cases in China is a puzzle, but probably due to their hygiene and proclivity to mix humans and livestock.

If you could have completely shut the borders three weeks ago it would have been too late. We have probably been getting infected individuals from China since early January or even December. Its here and its going to run it’s course.
