Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, told Fox News' Chris Wallace Wednesday in an exclusive interview that he "had to follow my conscience" in deciding to vote to convict President Trump on abuse of power, a decision that's likely to lead to serious blowback from Trump and others in the Republican Party.
"I believe that the act he took, an effort to corrupt an election is as destructive an attack on the oath of office and our Constitution as I can imagine," Romney said. "It is a high crime and misdemeanor within the meaning of the Constitution, and that is not a decision I take lightly. It is the last decision I want to take."

This just goes to show how very stupid the mormons really are
and I think it is time for all of us to fight back. Boycott everything that is mormon and boycott the state of Utah! If we can hurt their pocketbook hard enough they will wise up and not vote for him in 2024. Sadly, I don’t they are smart enough to figure that out.

Utah being a very devout state, I gather he decided to hide behind faith.
But seriously, the charge here was a non crime, there was no “corrupting an election”. Removing a president here would do great damage to the Constitution.
Claims he couldn’t sleep for weeks. Maybe he’s devout enough that he deceived himself into believing faith supported what is really his attempt at vengeance.
I honestly believe he’s still hoping to remove Trump, possibly flip the Senate by undermining Collins.
Maybe he’s just a fool. But I think he’s an angry fool and felt he’d never get a better chance so he couldn’t pass it up.
Obviously intended to undermine the great SOTU speech.
That strategy worked brilliantly last night. By not even mentioning the impeachment, Trump made it beneath him, and an irrelevancy. And that's what so infuriates the Dems. They desperately want to engage him on impeachment so as to drag it out...and Trump won't.
Give Romney the same "you're so irrelevant and beneath me that I won't acknowledge your existence" treatment. That is the best way to put Romney and the entire impeachment in the rear view mirror, and continue last night's message of looking forward.

A few days ago, US Senator Mitt Romney (R-UT????) voted to permit additional witness testimony and documentary evidence in the Impeachment Trial in the United States Senate.
Romney needed more evidence.
Today, Romney stated that he will vote to convict Trump on both Articles of Impeachment without any of the additional evidence that he claimed was necessary.
What a loser!
