quakes below 7.5 don’t usually make significant tsunami unless it triggers a big landslide into water
1. 7.5 can cause a tsunami if shallow enough, this is is 10 Km (5 miles) deep, indicating high potential for significant surface displacement
2. Nature of the fault movement. Thrust/subduction zones can create a lot of vertical displacement - doesn't need a land slide. In this case, the fault is a transform which results on more lateral and less vertical displacement.
