Democrats have a new impeachment hero: Fox News analyst Andrew Napolitano

As the Senate reconvened Thursday for President Donald Trump's historic impeachment trial, a name began trending on Twitter among those pushing for the president's removal from office: Fox News senior judicial analyst Andrew Napolitano.

The conservative commentator was once a Trump supporter and purveyor of conspiracy theories. But recently, Napolitano has shifted his stance on the president, voicing criticisms of Trump that are often at odds with the views of his fellow Fox News personalities.

Napolitano published an opinion piece pushing back against the president's repeated claims that the impeachment proceeding is a "hoax."

Napolitano described the proceedings as "deadly serious business based on well-established constitutional norms."

He also made a case for why he believes there is "ample and uncontradicted" evidence for the Senate to vote to remove the president, writing that there are "valid, lawful, constitutional arguments for Trump's impeachment that he ought to take seriously."

"What is required for removal of the president?" Napolitano wrote. "A demonstration of presidential commission of high crimes and misdemeanors, of which in Trump's case the evidence is ample and uncontradicted."

Nicely put. I have to take care when I call my Father every Sunday Morning to catch up with him, as I’m on the road all the time. God forbid I make your observations with him. 😀 FOX, and the pope are no go conversations. Took a while, but he loves The Trump. 👍

For what it's worth ...

In his autobiography My Grandfather's Son, Clarence Thomas says that Juan Williams was the only journalist in D.C. who treated him fairly during his confirmation battle.

“This other Freeper said the biggest B.S. artist on Fox is Juan Williams, who is much more conservative than you’d ever know from watching him. “

i believe that ... when Juan guest hosts various shows, he usually does an excellent job and shows that he’s quite intelligent ... otherwise, it appears that Juan is paid to act the fool ...

btw, i think Hannity, Tucker and Jesse Waters are genuinely conservative and believe what they say ... as for the rest, their basically just actors ...

I’m all but certain Napolitano is being blackmailed in a big way.

They all are being blackmailed so don't anyone be surprised when those rinos turn on the President.

This lil show has been pre-determined for a long time now.

Nap asked The Donald to consider him for a spot on the Supreme Court.
The Donald laughed and said hell no.
Nap has had it in for The Donald ever since.

Sean Hannity adopted a similar take on the day's events. "Now, if I was a terrible host, I would force you to endure watching the regurgitation, the repetition..."

Hannity must not watch his own show.
