She’ll find her way back to the “I’d like to hear more before making a final decision” camp soon, 95% of her prominence as a Senator comes from pretending to be a swing vote.

I love it when President Trump calls Nadler a “sleazeball”.

Alaska went bigly for Trump in 2016. How does she think her contrariness will help her future in politics?

Hmmmm, I am not sure about those. AZ sen is pretty left, but oddly enough, has showed individuality on rare occasions. Manchin from WV just got re-elected, so I see him toeing party line. Jones in AL cant think for himself, so I see him voting party line.

Joe McCarthy was a Senator and he had absolutely nothing to do with the House UnAmerican Activity Committee. Joe said that communists had infiltrated the State Department (and he was right). He never named anyone until he was forced to on the Senate floor.

Because these pompous a*s fools think they are so important that when it is revealed that they really are sleazeballs it bothers them to the core because their false pretense is revealed.

She’s possibly the only GOP Senator who doesn’t need a majority of GOP voters to stay in office. She demonstrated that when she turned out the Alaska “ government hand-out” community with a write-in campaign to beat Miller.

Every other GOP Senator needs GOP voters to stay in office. With Trump’s GOP support at 95% (unprecedented!) any GOP senator that votes to convict Trump at least 30% (more like 50%) of his GOP voter support. None except possibly Murkowski could survive that! Being Senator is far more lucrative then anything else they could be and they know that.

There’s a reason why Pelosi appointed a bunch of misfits from safe Democratic districts to lead this charade. I’m sure Democrats in swing districts are already prepared to throw these jerks under the bus when the whole thing goes up in flames.
You may be onto something. I suspect, though, that they were misfits before and never have had problems getting reelected. That will probably be the case again. That means, they can get away with lying, witch hunts, incompetence, and general stupidity.

Ah Yes. Just insult the body you are trying to sway to your side. Brilliant strategy and great selecting the managers for the DEm ‘Spanish Inquisition’ we all are witnessing.

(well, the ones of us watching any of the debacle unfold which don’t include me and many others here.)

During his remarks in the Senate on Tuesday night, Nadler alleged that any senator who voted against a measure to allow additional witnesses was guilty of a White House "cover up." It was an incendiary and outrageous claim that was soundly rejected by the next man at the podium, White House counsel Pat Cipollone. Cipollone turned to Nadler and said that if "anyone" in that room should be "embarrassed," he should look in the mirror.
A funhouse mirror, preferably. Weebles is a despicable liar and enemy of the rule of law and the US Constitution.

Whether it translates into votes is yet to be seen but there is definitely a pecking order in Congress and the Senators consider themselves at the apex. To have House members come in with the sort of attitude that came out of Nadler’s capacious mouth is something far worse than an insult to the Senators’ constituents, states, country, government, and culture, it is an insult to their egos.

LOL, and how on earth do you KNOW it “means nothing”?

Your question proves my point. We cannot know and I don’t trust Murkowski.

Good luck getting her back in your good graces, chairman.

*****

Oh bull.

She’s a “moderate”. Give her 30 seconds to reset what passes for a mind in that skank and she’ll remember a dozen or more rationalizations to stab the people she’s supposed to represent and the side she’s supposed to be on in the back.

That *is* what moderates do.
That *is* their entire purpose in life.

You could be right. I’d love the media to at least go after them like they do our senators. I think it sucks that the media doesn’t care that democrat’s Decisions are already baked in. Why are they not asked if they are listening to testimony and why you decided to convict already? So frustrating.

Jones in AL would eliminate any chance of getting re-elected with a negative vote.
