President Trump has locked down the defense team that will be representing him during his impeachment trial, as House Democrats move Wednesday to send the articles of impeachment against him to the Senate.
The four-person legal team is made up of several top White House attorneys, with an administration official telling Fox News that other lawyers could cycle through or be on the floor in a support capacity during the Senate trial.
Here are the four main attorneys that will make up Trump’s defense team:
Pat Cipollone
Cipollone, the White House counsel, will take the helm in commanding Trump’s defense. He was named to the post in October 2018 but has known the president for years. He represented Trump during his tenure as a partner at the law firm Kirkland & Ellis and helped Trump prepare for the 2016 presidential debates.

Jay Sekulow
The second-in-command of the president’s defense, Sekulow has worked as the coordinator of Trump’s personal legal team and was heavily involved in his defense during former Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

Michael Purpura
Purpura, who will serve as one of the two deputies on Trump’s defense team, has worked in the White House Counsel’s office since January 2019.
A graduate of West Point and Columbia Law School, Purpura has a long history of working for Republican presidential administrations...

Rounding off Trump’s defense team will be Philbin, who has close ties to both Cipollone and the George W. Bush administration.
The Harvard Law School graduate, who serves as deputy White House counsel, was also a partner at Kirkland & Ellis and worked as an associate deputy attorney general during the Bush administration from 2003 to 2005.

This is not reasonable! Trump should have no defense lawyers! He should be made to stand with head bowed in the well of the Senate wearing a dunce cap and a sign about his neck stating that he is an ideological deviationist while the House managers denounce him roundly for his counterrevolutionary tendencies and, oh by the way, sabotaging and wrecking the economy.

In the highly unlikely event that President Trump is convicted and removed from office, is there anything in the Constitution of other law that prevents him from running for POTUS again in November?
I’m no authority on this however I’ve read here on FR several times he can run again if he should be removed from office.

If he’s convicted, the Senate can not only remove him from office but can disqualify him from holding any public office. That’s explicitly stated in the Constitution.
Does this mean he isn’t utilizing any of the Republican House members? Impeachment is political. I breathe easier that Rudy isn’t on this team.
No. Article I, Section 3: "Judgment in Cases of Impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from Office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United States." The Democrats wrote the impeachment indictment to prevent Trump from ever holding office again if convicted.

OMG POTUS has Jay Sekulow, Alan Dershowitz, his head attorneys name escapes me but he is also TOP NOTCH it is going to be quite a contrast between these absolute IDIOTS on the left and Trump attorneys it is actually going to be embarrassing!!! I can’t wait it will be delicious watching these fools lined up against these TOP NOTCH attorneys it is laughable that they think they are smart enough to go through with this farce!!!! Apparently that’s why Alcee Hastings is in Congress. Impeached & removed as a federal judge (DOJ blew the criminal case against him!) back in federal office as a congressman. I was told that when he was removed Congress did not explicitly state “disqualified for federal office”.
