If your home isnt carbon neutral, Elizabeth Warren might not let you build it. And if that means no new homes get built, shes OK with that.
In an appearance on MSNBCs Morning Joe on Wednesday, the Massachusetts senator and fading presidential candidate talked about her Thunberg-lite plan to help end climate change. (Climate crisis? Catastrophe? What are we going with these days?)
She promised to do everything a president can do all by herself, that is, the things you dont have to do by going to Congress. This includes putting an end to energy mining and drilling on federal lands or offshore and not having a coal lobbyist as head of the Environmental Protection Agency.
You might not be surprised to learn thats a dig at Andrew Wheeler, President Donald Trumps EPA administrator, who was previously an attorney representing a coal producer.
Warren then moved on to her plan for housing, which she said was borne out of the dire predictions scientists have been making.
What scares me is every time you go back to the scientists, they tell you two things, the senator said. Its worse than we thought, and we have less time.

Problem is though....there is a segment of the population that will agree with her.
“Green scammers are already saying no more single family homes. Soviet apartments for peons. Mansions for Leftist elites.”
That’s right - and the proper ethnic makeup of those Soviet-style apartments...
I’ve posted for years that the environmental movement was nothing more than a scheme to get Americans to accept a reduced standard of living (no single-family homes, no cars, no children); they are openly admitting it now.
Common Core is not in Florida...we banned it.
She is absolutely serious about this.
Obama tried to lower the American standard of living.
He said you couldn’t just set your thermostat at what you want or drive whatever car you want wherever you want. He said that it was unfair for Americans to live like this when people elsewhere in the world can’t do it.
I’m just under 50 and I could see the brainwashing attempts by a number of teachers and could see the ones gaming the system even when I was in middle school, sometimes earlier when it wasn’t so subtle.
Energy poverty has become a thing in Germany since they started shutting down their nuclear plants in the wake of Fukushima, along with installing all sorts of expensive Green energy boondoggles. There are plenty of articles like this out there:
Over 300,000 poverty-hit German homes have power cut off each year

Of course they dont manage to get into the policy reasons why energy is so expensive.
Just when one thinks Democrats cannot get any worse they prove one wrong
Nothing like putting thousands upon thousands of home construction companies and individuals out of work. These people are simply stupid. Absolutely crazy. A bunch of idiots. Keep voting idiots. This is what you want to elect, idiots like this broad!!!
Dumb enough to stay in a race that she has absolutely no chance winning. I do approve of supporters pouring money down the Warren-campaign rathole.
she is making money in donations.
not a bad gig
Another reason to move to Florida!
Depending on the size of house about 10-20 acres. And that is selective cutting and for the life of your house.

If you are on Free Republic you are well above average in intelligence and perception. I really shouldn’t paint all the
under age 50 people with a broad brush.
It’ just frustrating to know there are so many ready to vote in November who say “Trump’s the worst crook since Nixon. Glad they impeached him.” and “That Don Lemon is so smart. So is Rachel Maddow. More people should listed to what they say.”
Gee, construction only accounts for 5-10% of the GDP. It’s not like banning construction would instantly throw us into a recession or anything...
True. They got us used to no permission to buy light bulbs with regular tungsten filaments, and forcing us to use narrow small stream aerators for faucets, limiters on toilet flushes, and those plastic bags for bagging vegetables and fruits which are now so thin they tear while you struggle to separate them at the display in a grocery store.
A small former shopping center near here once had a supermarket, restaurant and maybe five stores. Sold to a developer. Bulldozed (after 3 years of court counter battles and his emergence from bankruptcy) and now built up with identical buildings of four storey pale washed out green cinder block buildings in rows.
A neighbor who once lived in Poland said they looked just like the Soviet bloc government housing. Drab, depressing and uniform. Tomorrow's America, sadly.
