If I recall my history, the House Democrats in Lincoln’s time would have impeached Lincoln if they could get away with it.

Lincoln suspended habeas corpus and issued the Emancipation Proclamation with no authority. He was also very heavy handed with measures to keep Maryland in the Union. So, yeah, there’s your “abuse of power.”
Had he lived, the Republicans might have impeached Lincoln. Remember he was advocating the return of the ex-Confederate States with as little fuss as possible. Had he lived, he would have been seriously bumping heads with the Radical Republicans in the House and Senate. They impeached Johnson for not wanting to punish the South.
