A federal court announced that next week U.S. District Judge Loretta Biggs will formally block a photo ID requirement scheduled to begin in 2020. Unless the upcoming preliminary injunction is successfully appealed, the requirement will be halted until a lawsuit filed by the state NAACP and others is resolved.

In Florida you must have an ID to vote and if you don’t have one, you cast a provisional ballot .
I have an injury to my writing hand and almost always get my signature challenged. I usually show them my hand and it’s not a problem.

Whether during early voting or on Election Day, you will be asked to provide at the polls a valid photo ID with signature. Any one of the following photo IDs will be accepted:

Florida driver’s license
Florida identification card issued by the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles
United States passport
Debit or credit card
Military identification
Student identification
Retirement center identification
Neighborhood association identification
Public assistance identification
Veteran health identification card issued by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs
License to carry a concealed weapon or firearm issued pursuant to s. 790.06
Employee identification card issued by any branch, department, agency, or entity of the Federal Government, the state, a county, or a municipality.
If your photo ID does not include your signature, you will be asked to provide another ID that has your signature.

If you do not bring proper ID, you can still vote a provisional ballot. As long as you are eligible and voted in the proper precinct, your provisional ballot will count provided the signature on your provisional ballot matches the signature in your registration record.

How is it possible that black people are able to function in today’s world without a photo ID? How is it possible that Costa Rica and Mexico can manage to issue photo ID cards to all of their voters? I believe even India is able to pull this off. But somehow it is an impossible burden for black Americans?

"This b o appointed non-biased judge is obviously guilty of cultural misappropriation."

Yup. There is a beauty salon on every other block in the inner cities that cater to hair straightening and extensions for black women. Some customers even have their hair dyed lighter.

As a white male who once had hair bleached semi-blonde by the Sun (surfer), I resent the "cultural appropriation". I'm offended and need monetary justice! And, I demand all Black Salons to pay reparations to every person who has naturally straight hair in this Country!

I once stood behind a man in line to sign the voter register at my local polling place. He was unable to "remember" the name under which he had registered to vote. He was certain that he had registered but his name was not to be found. The helpful clerk was running him through as many variations of his name as she could think of, and she inquired about any other names he might have used. The Democrat position is that this sort of thing happens disproportionately to black people. It is well known that knowing one's name is a function of white privilege.

Being a charitable fellow, my conclusion was that the poor man was probably congenitally confused and clearly needed a photo id to know who he was.

The only other alternative would be to believe that he could not remember the name he was given in the parking lot, in which case, of course, he would not want to present a photo id. But that supposition would be ungenerous and would probably get me branded as a racist.

I was standing there wondering whether to intervene, make a scene and call for the local gendarmes. But the fellow left without voting, and I was outnumbered enough not to want to press the point.

The government has NO problem regulating virtually every aspect of human existence. If you want a license, open a bank account, get a job, board a plane, register a car, buy a property, buy a gun, get married, buy beer and do a whole host of other things (including all manner of public assistence), you need an ID. Some reason, they want to exempt the single most important act of citizenship from such regulations.

I have a proposal. Okay, voter fraud doesn't happen. Fine. No ID. BUT, if you are caught committing voter fraud, it should carry ten years mandatory prison. No parole, no pardons possible. It's a win win.

Call their bluff.

Leftist judges are one of the most dangerous threats to the country. Their socialist ideology infects their judgement. Justice Roberts lies.

“Thank God Trump has the foresight to deal with the courts the way he has.”

And THANK GOD for the conservatives who held their noses and voted for the Senate RINOs who voted to confirm Trump’s judges about 99% of the time.

Had they stayed home (as some here advise...I guess to somehow ‘teach the Republicans a lesson’), none of these judges would have been confirmed, and that includes the SUPREME COURT.

Congress just acted to raise the age to purchase tobacco to 21. Won’t it now be necessary to show a picture ID to buy cigarettes? Seems strange that there is no similar requirement to vote. Imagine if there were a court challenge to the tobacco age claiming that requiring an ID is racist and disenfranchises minority smokers.

We moved to MS last year from CA.

I Voted in both the Primary and the General Elections.

I went to the Table, presented my MS DL and signed the Voter Register. Every person working at the Polling Place was Black and I will bet a dollar to a donut there were all Registered Democrats.

In CA if you dare to show your Photo ID at the Poll the people working there act like you pulled out a Crucifix and they are Vampires.

“Soon we will get to see Trump judges in joining 0bama judges.”

While Trump has the media and RATs distracted with other things (look! squirrel!), behind the scenes he’s getting conservative judges appointed. The long-lasting effects of that will be a star in his crown in heaven, I think.

The right to bear arms is a specific Constitutional right.

Whatever the left demands as a requirement to exercise this right should also be a completely reasonable requirement to exercise the right to vote.

Imagine buying a gun and not only not doing a background check but not even being required to produce an ID.

We will not fully restore the rule of law until every Obama judge is retired. What we can do is flip the higher courts so that they will immediately overturn these silly commands. Thank God that President Trump is doing a great job on nominations and that judicial confirmations are the one area in which Mitch McConnell is doing his job well.

Is the NAALCP still arguing that photo IDs disproportionately adversely impact black folks for some reason?

Zero-designated tyrant upholding Demonrat voter fraud in North Carolina. Between the state judges deliberately stealing Republican seats to install their buddies under lines they “ordered” and these corrupt federal judges, Demonrats got it made in imposing their Communist-totalitarian tyranny.

Yes. Many years ago, I offered my DL as ID before voting in California and was told ‘you don’t need any ID’. Voter fraud is RAMPANT in California. The number of votes that was Hillary’s advantage in her race against Trump, was approx the number by which she won California in 2016.
