The man that didn’t get gun out fast enough got the shooter’s attention by his motion to draw his gun. That man and the man that was standing close bought Mr Wilson the precious split seconds to respond with accuracy.
That many guns means the wicked one was going to die. It’s probably good that Mr Wilson wasn’t the closest man, because it might have been a draw with the shooter not getting killed right away, and Mr Wilson at least being wounded.
This incident is going to make security even more alert, and finding the absolute quickest holster/harness setup for them. Personally, I prefer the sport/suit coat/jacket with a harness: well hidden, yet easy to draw. If a creep is casing the place from outside and sees more guys going old school, wearing a dress jacket or suit coat, he may wonder if every last one of them is armed.
And they didn’t shoot each other or anyone else. Good assessment skills. Good trigger discipline.
I thought “civilians” were supposed to freeze in panic or or shoot up everything in sight.
Quid Pro Perv Joe says going to church armed is irrational, just before being escorted into church by an army of heavily armed bodyguards.
Hope 2020 is not loaded with as much crap.
I had heard that Texas just passed a law allowing “church carry” 2 months ago.
I believe I read someplace the guy that took him out had a firearm training business? I could be wrong. Just ask Mrs rktman. :-)
Seven guns? Until now I wouldn’t have connected connected thoughts of church services with Darwin awards.
One report that I read indicated that the guy was known to the church and it looked like they sort of had their eye on him. That makes a huge difference in my mind about being ready, mentally, when the shooting started.
Good on all of the congregation.
Or shoot anyone else with a weapon drawn?
You mean the 2nd doesn’t authorize us to carry weapons? LOL! I know what you mean.
Reminds me of a Dirty Harry movie....
Yet they exercised restraint and didn't start blasting away, unlike those "trained" cops who went Fallujah on a stolen UPS truck recently, killing the hostage and an innocent bystander as well as the two perps.
This is good news and ought to be broadcast to all the nation - that there are many people prepared to shoot a terrorist or any other type of idiot who tries to shoot up a public place [like a church] in the state of Texas.
Neh. 4:17
Some places you’re ‘authorized’. Others, not so much.
I would like to know how many conceal carry in my church. I doubt it is very many and I trust I am wrong. I also trust I never find out.

“The Second Amendment does NOT grant a right to bear arms.
The Second Amendment stops the government from infringing on that already possessed right.”
Exactly what I was thinking when the Pastor was praising the government for allowing us to carry guns to protect ourselves.
Nehemiah 4:17-18 They which builded on the wall, and they that bare burdens, with those that laded, every one with one of his hands wrought in the work, and with the other hand held a weapon. For the builders, every one had his sword girded by his side, and so builded. And he that sounded the trumpet was by me.
