WASHINGTON/BAGHDAD (Reuters) - The U.S. military has carried out “defensive strikes” in Iraq and Syria against the Kataib Hezbollah militia group, the U.S. Pentagon said on Sunday, two days after a U.S. civilian contractor was killed in a rocket attack on an Iraqi military base.

The Pentagon said it targeted three locations of the Iranian-backed Shi’ite Muslim militia group in Iraq and two in Syria. The locations included weapons storage facilities and command and control locations the group had used to plan and execute attacks on coalition forces.

“In response to repeated Kata’ib Hizbollah attacks on Iraqi bases that host Operation Inherent Resolve (OIR) coalition forces, U.S. forces have conducted precision defensive strikes ... that will degrade KH’s ability to conduct future attacks against OIR coalition forces” chief Pentagon spokesman Jonathan Hoffman said in the statement.

In Iraq, several Iraqi militia fighters were killed on Sunday in an air strike on their headquarters...

Why did we have to wait until someone died to destroy their infrastructure.

Hezbollah is Iranian. Attack Iran, destroy its military and free its people to once again be prosperous without the muslims who took over and sent Iran back to the dark ages.

Not enough. Wanna stop this crap? Trump should have initiated a 24 hour, non-stop, bombing campaign using napalm, daisy cutters and MOABS. Furthermore, I’d capture key players and go drawn and quartered medieval death sentences.

The five pronged USAF attack was first time US forces struck directly at Iranian Revolutionary Guards Al Qods as well as the Iran-supported Iraqi Kata’ib Hezbollah Shiite militia. At least 12 dead including the 3 officers mentioned above.

The other day, it was reported that US Intel “believed” the attacks were Hezbollah.

Remember when US Intel lied about the Khan Shaykhun attack in Idlib, and the US bombed five (IIRC) Syrian bases/weapons stockpiles?

Remember Ivanka crying to Daddy for a response against the legitimate government of Syria b/c “children”.

No I don't remember, I wasn't there. Were you?

If you weren't there can you be sure it wasn't more fake news? And you're repeating it over again because you're a never-Trumper?

I don't know about you but I would call that going on offense, not defensive.

Iraqi PMU Asai’b Ahl al-Haq statement on the American attack on Iraq tonight:

‘’The American military presence has become a burden for the State and a source of aggression against our forces and therefore it has become mandatory for all of us to expel them from Iraq.’’

Now, Let me refresh your memory:

Eric Trump Says Syria Strike Was Swayed By ‘Heartbroken’ Ivanka

April 11, 2017, 5:17 AM CDT / Updated April 11, 2017, 5:17 AM CDT
By Alexander Smith

Donald Trump’s decision to bomb Syria was influenced by his daughter, Ivanka, being “heartbroken and outraged” at the country’s alleged chemical weapons attack, one of the president’s sons told a British newspaper.

The president launched 59 cruise missiles at a Syrian government air base he alleged was involved in a chemical weapons attack that killed dozens of civilians last week.

Trump’s 33-year-old son, Eric, told The Daily Telegraph on Monday that the strike was influenced in part by Ivanka, who he said was “heartbroken and outraged” by the chemical attack.

“Ivanka is a mother of three kids and she has influence,” Eric Trump said, speaking with the newspaper at Trump Turnberry golf resort in Ayrshire, Scotland. “I’m sure she said, ‘Listen, this is horrible stuff.’ My father will act in times like that.”

Trump himself was “deeply affected” by the pictures of children being “sprayed down by hoses to keep their skin from burning,” according to his son. “It was horrible. These guys are savages and I’m glad he responded the way he responded.”

White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer was asked about Ivanka at the daily press briefing and said, “There’s no question Ivanka and others weighed in to him” after seeing horrific pictures of the victims of the chemical attack.

Spicer said he didn’t know if Ivanka had discussed the response U.S. missile attack with her father.

Couldn't you get a little more creative and include measures using pig blood and bacon?

Why did we have to wait until someone died to destroy their infrastructure.

Because the intel being obtained was of value. That's always been a hard decision.
