A car bomb has exploded at a busy security checkpoint in Somalia’s capital, killing at least 73 people.
It was one of the deadliest attacks in Mogadishu in recent memory, and witnesses said its force reminded them of the devastating 2017 bombing that killed hundreds of people.
The toll could rise as scores of people were rushed on Saturday to hospitals, government spokesman Ismail Mukhtar told The Associated Press….
Most of those killed were university and other students returning to class, Mayor Omar Mohamud Mohamed said at the scene. Police said two Turkish nationals were dead.
Captain Mohamed Hussein said the blast targeted a tax collection centre during the morning rush hour as Somalia returned to work after its weekend. A large black plume of smoke rose above the capital….
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the blast. The al-Qaeda-linked al-Shabab often carries out such attacks. The extremist group was pushed out of Mogadishu several years ago but continues to target high-profile areas such as checkpoints and hotels in the seaside city
We need to send these folks some more C-4.
We need to send them a congresswoman to talk to them about living in peace and stuff. Someone who speaks their language.
Why did we send good men to die over there?
My impression is that fertilizer bombs aren’t that difficult to assemble. I’m surprised we haven’t had a few of these happening stateside, with the number of radical nutjobs who went to Syria instead.

How many muslims did they kill in that blast? Yeah, yeah, it was Allah’s will.
Were all the commuters Christian? Explain.
Im usually support all religions though I practice none. B:-)it with all these Muslim attacks on everyone I have a question. Is it time to declare Islam is not a religion but a terrorist movement bent on world domination through war? The only response must be to declare war on Islam and fight back.

Best idea tho’ no one in particular in mind, right? I can think of a couple!
Somalia is nearly 100% Sunni Moslem. The odds are that nearly all of those killed were Moslems
