Christians must support Samson–I mean, Donald Trump
The Bull Elephant ^ | December 24, 2019 | Jonathon Moseley

Posted on 12/24/2019 3:58:00 PM PST by Moseley

hould Christians continue to support Donald Trump as President, even during the Democrats’ impeachment show and the 2020 presidential election? An editorial in Christianity Today called for the U.S. Senate to remove Trump on impeachment, using as its theology talking points from the Democrat Party.

Did God choose Donald Trump — an unlikely prospect — to help lead the United States of America back in a Godly direction? Such discussions reveal more about people’s ideas and misunderstandings about Christianity. This topic could be endless because it involves the Creator and Superintendent of the entire universe. But let’s start somewhere.

Donald Trump, in Christian analysis, is like Samson. Samson was a drunkard, a womanizer, crude, rude, unrefined, apparently did not often hold a job or tend fields but spent his time carousing. Samson was a local celebrity.

God chose Samson to “save” Israel (in practical terms in war). Why? Why would God associate with such a bad example of immorality? Because no one else would do the job. The story of Samson is about all the good, “moral” Israelites who ignored God’s call.

Why did God choose Samson, an immoral drunkard and womanizer? He didn’t. First God called others. But those others wouldn’t do the job.

Like Samson, God called Donald Trump because God couldn’t persuade all the superficial, morally-posturing, ‘Christian’ politicians to do the job. All these years, ‘moral’ Republicans lusted for the approval of men rather than helping real people in their actual lives.

The attention should not be on Samson or Trump but on all the phonies. Too many ‘good” Republicans ignored the needs of God’s people struggling in their lives. God had to look elsewhere after crossing everyone else off His list.

If those who long to throw the first stone actually read the Bible, they might understand. Jesus taught us in Matthew 7:16-20 (NASB):

16 You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they? 17 So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 So then, you will know them by their fruits.

For decades, all those much-better ‘moral’ Republicans politicians who act like model ‘Central Casting’ typecasts of Christians have utterly failed to actually do anything in office to improve the nation or the lives of its citizens. “You shall know them by their fruits,” Jesus taught us.

Donald Trump, imperfect in outward appearance, is bearing fruit where supposedly respectable, moral Republicans only talked and talked but did not act. (Your author personally tried to urge publicly-Christian conservative legislators in Virginia to pass amendments tweaking laws, and found they had no interest in helping real people.)

Anyone who wants their government to answer to the citizenry first instead of the multinational corporations, should support our POTUS.

Anyone who is upset that prices keep going up while wages were until recently kept artificially low, should support our president.

Anyone who would prefer to not sacrifice the United States to beget a Chinese economic “miracle”, should support Donald J. Trump.

Anyone, in short, who doesn’t want to destroy the United States of America to appease the haters and the covetous, should support Trump.

Anyone who has been despised and abused for the sake of a faith that is ridiculed as backwards, weak, and superstitious should remember that God raises His champions from among the rejected of the world, that His glory may shine all the greater.

Is it any wonder, then, that being beaten at every turn by a man these people have ridiculed, might send the arrogant and the powerful over the edge?

President Donald Trump does not drink alcohol and has been a productive member of society his entire life.

Leftist mobs are piling up at the gates but God will not be mocked. What He is doing will not be stopped by phony Christians who “pray” for the president with one hand and impeach him with the other. They will all die at the gates by the hand of the Lord who is leading us out of terrible darkness.

I think Donald Trump is more like David or Joshua than Samson. For one thing, he is much more wise than Samson and I don’t think the Philistines are going to take him down with their underhanded tricks.

Pretty good premise, one I never considered.

Yeah. Pretty much.

And Trump does not drink and is more of a workaholic then a party boy.

More then that Trump comes across as nice. Those who get up on their high horses about what he says about people who attack him first need to read all the stories about the people he has helped. There are a lot of them. And HE never talks about them.

"It's the judges, stupid", to paraphrase the Clinton 1992 campaign slogan "It's the economy, stupid".

Fanatical atheist partisan Democrat Federal "judges" WILL make Christians "bake the cake", "kill the fetus" and force their children to be LGBTQWERTY Sodomites.

His history with women aligns, as does his boasting.
I have been using the analogies of Gideon and Sampson since Trump entered the 2016 primaries.

It's not about his wisdom, its about the history of his sexual mores and his manner of speaking.

We have had people who have been claiming that God only uses people who are already pure.

God uses whom he pleases. He calls Prostitutes. Murderers. Brawlers. And then he raises them up to fulfill his purpose.

Billy Graham saw something in Donald Trump and spent the last few years of his life mentoring him. I suspect that there was a reason and I do not believe for an instant that Trump has walked through all of the snares the combined forces of Congress, the intelligence services, and some of the law enforcement agencies lay while he was still a primary candidate due to his own wisdom.

Bingo! He has been anointed by God for this time and this place. (pearl-clutchers: ‘anointed’ doesn’t mean he is holy, pure, spotless, sinless’)

That is why the Devil’s schemes are not working. Plain and simple.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL THE PATRIOTS IN OUR ORBIT AND THOSE WE HAVE YET TO MEET. BE SAFE IN 2020.
And pray for President Trump’s safety. The left’s first two techniques for dealing with opposition - ignore & discredit - have failed.  The third - ELIMINATE - may be in play soon!
And a 2 minute video reflecting on the current state of the Republic we call America.
God bless.

Yes. And your key word is Productive. This Universe is expanding. Productivity rules. It is no coincidence that the peak of our society coincided with the peak of our productivity, when we landed a man on the moon. Unfortunately we have drifted to the destructive side of the pendulum since then. IMHO.

Can we please come quickly to the point where he catches foxes, ties their tails together and sets them on fire.

I see the Dem operatives in the deep state as the modern equivalent of the foxes, and the high ranking malefactors as the Philistines he was fighting with these tactics.

Yep - God often chooses those who may seem unlikely to the rest of us sinners and tasks them in ways that elevate them into something better.

“read all the stories about the people he has helped. There are a lot of them. And HE never talks about them.”

That’s true, and I often wonder why many of his surrogates in the media don’t “go there”. They never do talk up his charitable work when he helps people on a one-on-one basis. Like when he had the chauffeur stop the car so he could get out and stop a mugging — with a baseball bat, I think.

Anyhow, people with a pulpit should be talking about these things all the frickin’ time! They just don’t.
