The news media and Democrats are quickly seizing on a government email to paint a misleading picture that the Trump administration requested the Pentagon withhold military aid to Ukraine just 91 minutes after President Trump’s phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
The decision to withhold aid was actually announced seven days prior to Trump’s July 25 phone call while the email in question was part of a weeklong discussion about withholding aid and was unrelated to the call, the Trump administration explained.

The thing is, what they are doing is not new. We just have the means to go around them now and find out the truth. Imagine just how many stories from the past were also fake news.

What I don’t understand is why he doesn’t hold up all foreign aid pending a forensic accounting of each one?

Unless the call was to a Ukrainian official its just business as usual for the OMB. There are often bureaucratic reasons for delays in aid based on internal reviews and spending priorities.
If President Trump had done what Joe Biden confessed to he would have been removed from office for bribery of a foreign official. By asking for cooperation between the Ukraine and the AG of the US to root out corruption that the President knew about he was doing his job. Period.
Your right. The President should use the lever of withholding aid to root out corruption. Especially if a former elected official is involved. It’s his job.
Biden was bragging on TV about doing just that.
We’re playing defense. The Democrats are entrapping us in trying to rebut their endless arguments over trivial sub-issues like this. They want to get the focus off of what Biden and his son were up to. They’d rather not be talking about things like: crime, poverty, and homelessness in leftist America; environmental extremism; high-cost energy; lack of educational choice; kids running wild in school; etc.
When I first read/saw the memo, my gut said it was "inserted" into the records because we already knew different.
In fact, I think the ending statement about keeping it close was in a much earlier memo. Hill said her people were talking about it really early....but never said anything to her at the time. I think that's how it goes.
I believe they already made note of a couple countries where there was a hold.

I also don’t see anything wrong with what the President did. What’s more, if Hillary had won, and Trump had let it be known he would try again in 2020, and Hillary had immediately launched an investigation into Jared Kushner or Donald Trump Jr... no one anywhere on the Dem side would consider that an impeachable act. Hell, they’d cheer her on.
