Your scenario can only happen if McConnell allows it. As in the House the Senate makes its own rules and the House has zero, zip, nada, nothing to say about it.
McConnell is in an election year and if he wants to throw away that which he now has as his greatest EVER achievement, the Judges he has gotten pushed through he will greatly damage his chances at re election.
People seem to think the Democrats have all this mysterious power and can do what they want. Yet everything they have tried has FAILED and not just since Trump assumed office but thru the entire election process.
Democrats are total fools and one of Trumps greatest and longest lasting legacies will be his ripping the facade of them and exposing both them and the media they have partnered with for the America haters they are.
No compromise! Any yield to Democrat demands means they will run roughshod over the proceedings.
Why this rush to conclude the impeachment process. Ken Starr investigated Clinton for over a year. We can take time for a special counsel to look into potential Trump wrongdoing...oh, er,...never mind.
No deals!!! This is not a matter for negotiation.
I’m suspicious that protecting Biden is a very big part of this drama.
