President Donald J. Trump Has Secured Critical Funding to Strengthen Our National Defense and Secure Our Borders

"My mission is to put our country on the very best footing to thrive, excel, compete, and to win." - DONALD Trump

STRENGTHENING OUR DEFENSE: President Donald J. Trump is signing funding legislation that provides vital support for our military.

The funding legislation signed by the President provides a historic $738 billion in funding for defense, a $22 billion increase over last year. Included in the funding legislation is a 3.1 percent pay raise for our Nation’s great military members, the largest such pay raise in a decade.

The package includes funding for the first time for the establishment of the Space Force, the first new branch of the Armed Forces to be established since 1947. SECURING OUR BORDERS: This legislation maintains funding we need to enforce our immigration laws, secure our borders, and build the wall.

The legislation enables more than the $8.6 billion amount included in the budget request to be dedicated for the President’s border wall, including nearly $1.4 billion in direct funding.

The Administration successfully defeated every attempt by Democrats to undo the President’s authority to redirect and transfer additional funding to build the wall. Funding was secured for additional immigration judges, which will help tackle the backlog of more than one million immigration cases.

This legislation rejects attempts to cap and slash Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention resources and preserves the successful Migrant Protection Protocols.

SUPPORTING ADMINISTRATION PRIORITIES: President Trump has secured important funding for programs that will further Administration priorities.

The President continued to support our Nation’s great veterans by securing nearly $92 billion in discretionary funding for the Department of Veterans Affairs.

The President achieved a more than 400 percent increase for the NASA lander program, support that will one day help to deliver our astronauts back to the Moon. The President secured full funding to continue the fight against the opioid epidemic.

The legislation provides $1.7 billion for mental health programs in the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.

The President continued to stand up for the sanctity of life by defeating Democrat provisions that would have supported abortion and black-listed pro-life organizations.

The President secured $1 billion for BUILD grants, a vital tool to help State and local governments improve their infrastructure.

The legislation supports President Trump’s workforce development efforts by fully funding the President’s apprenticeship initiative.

The President’s Women’s Global Development and Prosperity Fund was funded at $100 million and the Development Finance Corporation was funded at $301 million.

The President’s Industries of the Future initiative was funded for the first time and will ensure United States economic strength into the next generation.

Watched his great speech today. He is a wonder. I truly love him, as he loves our country. Such courage and man can he take what the evil forces dish out and he keeps on fighting.

The comments on YouTube below the speech video were about 98% pro-Trump.

The Trump landslide will be HUGE.

lol

I gave up on having another great president in my lifetime.

Ronald Reagan is my favorite president. Perhaps the security of being 12 and knowing that the guy I saw on my TV just made me feel safe will always be with me.

But Trump is a fantastic president. We couldn’t ask for better.

Lotsa pork in this bill. The deficit needs to be addressed but I’ll withhold serious criticism at least until I find out how much the national debt has increased after the end of the FY

I’m not a fan of the Space Force. Seems to me like it just adds more unnecessary bureaucracy. Still very skeptical about the VA since their ineptness killed my brother when he went in for surgery a couple years ago.

Still, I’m glad to see adequate funding for the military and the border wall.

He forgot the one I like. Changing RMDs to age 72 and to allow Part Time workers to be able to contribute into retirement accounts like the 401k.

More Winning!

Tucker Carlson also said that there was a provision in the bill to fast track thousands of Liberian refugees for citizenship among dozens of other nuggets nobody knows about. While the media was obsessing over impeachment lobbyists and other insiders were having a field day.

WOW...does that imply that the RMD tables are all shifted to lower percentages...?

Spokeshave who is 77....the good news is that the 401K went up a lot and it pays my (humongous) property tax.

I agree. My wife and I pray for his safety. If these Rats and commies can’t get rid of him by all of these shenanigans they could craft a dark and murderous plan.

I don't know if they will change the percentages, but I doubt it as folks are living longer. I'm 63 so the change to age 72 is welcome news.

Sorry that the property taxes are so high. I live in Cherokee County which dropped school taxes when I turned 60. So my property tax is 1/3 of what it was. Perhaps a move is in order because high property tax states will tend to increase them as the social structure starts to fail.

Our side no doubt had to give way in more areas than we would like, but we can be sure that Trump fought hard for the best deal he could.

Another piecemeal shot at immigration.

Let’s hope Pres. Trump puts the full package out there. This should be part of a Comprehensive Immigration Enforcement bill, missing since 1987 ONE TIME amnesty. The List of Comprehensive Immigration Enforcement, missing since 1987 goes like this -

1) southern barrier;
2) require eVerify to hire;
3) end all chain migration;
4) birthright per Minor v. Happersett (plural parents);
5) end work visas;
6) 10-year moratorium on all new applications for citizenship (40 years to allow workplace automation effects on downsizing population);
7) Set up an illegal aliens’ victim restitution fund.

Enactment of these provisions will motivate illegal aliens to SELF-deport, and remove colonizadors from our welfare rolls.
