ANKARA (Reuters) - Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan was quoted as saying on Friday that Ankara would retaliate against potential U.S. sanctions over its purchase of Russian defense systems and a natural gas pipeline.

U.S. Congress has moved to impose sanctions on Turkey over its purchase of S-400 defense systems from Russia and related to Russia's TurkStream pipeline, which will carry Russian gas to Turkey.

Asked about the various sanctions against Ankara, Erdogan repeated that the S-400 deal was already completed.

"Now they are saying, 'we will impose sanctions against this' regarding TurkStream," he was quoted as saying. "This is a breach of our rights in the fullest sense. We will of course have our own sanctions against all of these."

Speaking of sanctions...
We don't seem to hear a lot about TurkStream like we do about Nord Stream 2.

I wonder why that is.

I think it is a bit harder to agitate Turks against it comparing to Germans.

Erdogan has a reliable US adviser--the Muslim thingy from Minnesota.

Raghead requested a seat on the US House Foreign Affairs Committee --- Pelosi bowed to the request.

Germany is accepting the Chinese telecom giant as a partner in it’s 5G telecom system upgrades, and its Nordtsream pipeline from Russia will make Germany even more dependent on Russia for energy than it already is. Erdogan has already made the S-400 missile deal with Putin and is now making his own pipeline deal with Russia.

So NATO means exactly what today???

No, not Turkish sanctions! The bubble in the American market for Turkish rugs will burst, leaving thousands of US homes rug-less and people unable to walk barefoot across wooden or tiled floors in the winter. Oh...the humanity! /s

We need to begin slowly moving our assets out of the two bases in Turkey, especially the nukes. They clearly have decided to go the Iran route of islam. Pull out, kick them out of NATO and if they keep messing with Israel let Israel kick the hell out of them.

How are they retaliating? I can’t think of a single business from Turkey. Are they going to withhold those fruit-flavored jelly things?

An orderly transition from NATO to neutral is advantageous for Turkey.
Eventually they will be absorbed by China, unless things change.
Which they will.
