Now that the Justice Department’s Michael Horowitz has exposed the flimsy nature of the Steele “dossier,” which the FBI disingenuously used to pursue a counterintelligence investigation of the Trump campaign, the public should finally be told a parallel truth about FBI actions that really did influence the 2016 election.
James Comey’s chaotic actions in the Hillary Clinton email case, later found to be improper and insubordinate, were set in motion by still-secret Russian intelligence. His original intervention led to his follow-up intervention, reopening the Hillary case before Election Day, which may well have tilted the election to Mr. Trump.
It’s bracing to consider that Robert Mueller’s report and several important Horowitz reports are all about what didn’t happen in 2016: Trump-Russia collusion. The key Horowitz report that deals with what did happen—the Russian influence on Mr. Comey’s Clinton actions—remains classified and hidden from the public.
The mainstream press, while flogging the false collusion narrative, has ignored and even declined to mention to its readers the existence of the Horowitz so-called classified appendix. At best, this inverts the newsman’s traditional inverted pyramid, hiding what is important while promoting the false and trivial. At worst, the media is engaged in a coverup to protect the sources behind its faulty collusion reporting who happen to be the same FBI and CIA decision makers in the Hillary case.
In the latest Horowitz report, released last week, an FBI attorney is seen doctoring the Carter Page warrant to hide the fact that Mr. Page was actually reporting his Russian contacts to the CIA. This same FBI attorney was last seen in an earlier Horowitz report lamenting Donald Trump’s election in a text message to a colleague and adding, “It’s just hard not to feel like the FBI caused some of this.”

I want to know why no one is talking about John Carlin
Carlin was head of the DOJ National Security Division in 2016. He was before that Robert Mueller’s chief of staff. You don’t get more deep-state than that.
Carlin, as head of DOJ-NSD would had to review and sign-off on all FISA applications from the FBI to the FISA Court. Moreover, he was required to periodically review and certify to the FISA Court that the DOJ and FBI had conformed to all laws and proper procedures for all evidence that was submitted to the Court.
Carlin issued his final “certification” to the FISA Court on September 27, 2016, and then resigned the next day. HE LIED to the FISA Court that there were no issues, when in fact, he was quite aware that Admiral Mike Rogers had shut-down and ordered a complete review of all FBI-contractor queries to the NSA after he found many abuses.
John Carlin was clearly a key actor in the attempted coup.
The hillary case run by obama, lynch, comey, et al, is quite simple. The summer exoneration was to enable hillary to run an unimpeded campaign, and win.
The fall re-opening was to clear the FIB of being partisan, and was easy enough to do, like susan rice’s “by-the-book” inoculation letter on exiting the White House.
The assumption was that the beeste had it as good as won and now was the time to give some semblance of evenhandedness.

And I still say Trump did un-classify everything, the deep state just refused. Trump has little or no support in the senate, so there is really nothing else he could do. Despite mcconnell’s occasional tepid words of support for Trump, he has been stabbing Tump, and us, in the back at every step. When was that last time Trump had the opportunity to make a recess appointment? Oh, that’s right NEVER. mcconnel has controlled who Trump can appoint to his cabinet using senate confirmation. And the only reason mcconnell has approved so many judges is because they are from his list.
Nonsense. This impeachment was going to happen the minute Donald Trump was declared the winner Nov 2016. The Dems simply were simply running out of time to do it so they pulled the trigger on the farce.
Dems ignored all the facts to get here today, declassifying anything would of not done anything to change their course.

Carlin has been the subject of a fair amount of speculation about Trump investigations. The IG report and the FISC report released yesterday seem to minimize the involvement of NSD at the DOJ side about the Carter Page FISA approvals. He was gone before the first Carter Page FISA request was approved. What is still unknown is his involvement with the FBI subcontractor 702 spying abuse..
