The whistleblower is the only necessary witness.

Whistleblower? You mean the person they are keeping secret that is already protected by law and nothing can be done to him? Except perjury, defamation, failure to comply with CIA, FBI, or military directives and the UCMJ, and possibly espionage that isn’t protected by the whisleblower protection act of 1989? And figure this....the person may not even exist and that person will have to testify in the Senate or they have no trail in the trial. You can’t convict/impeach without proof other than speculation.
And speculation, in itself, is another objection which is available to the investigating members of the senarte involved. The first form of the speculation objection would be an objection against a question which calls for the witness to speculate, or to provide an answer to a question which he or she would obviously not know the answer to as point of order. And all of the “charges” in this impeachment are based upon speculation and the president’s Constitutional privileges.
And since they have nothing else but speculation, so goes the impeachment. But they got enough dirty water, media inputs, on Trump by the lib low thinkers to maybe get votes. And that’s what this was all about.
